Default Info: 7500 Mile Service

I know it's mostly B.S. except the oil/filter change but I took it in to have it done anyway. Besides, I got them to balance and rotate my PS2s (front and rear) side to side. So for information sake, here is the rundown of the 7500 mile service along (with their respective service numbers?)...

Basic 7500 Service - SN002
Includes:
INSPECT Radiator Hoses - C0010
INSPECT Drive Belts - U0050
INSPECT Vapor Lines - U0150
INSPECT Fuel Lines - U0200
REPLACE Engine Oil - U0350
REPLACE Engine Oil Filter - U0400
INSPECT Exhaust System - U0500
INSPECT Steer Gear-Axel Susp - U0550
INSPECT Brake Lines & Cables - U0600
INSPECT Brake Pads & Discs - U0650
INSPECT Drive Shaft Boots - U0710
INSPECT Battery Electroly - U0960
INSPECT Wiper Blades - W0013
CHECK Operation Of Lights - X0035
FILL Fluid Levels As Nec - X0040
REBALANCE Front Tires - X0045
CHECK AND ADJ Tire P.S.I. - X0047
INSPECT A/C System - X0054
TEST Battery Charging Sys - X0056
LUBRICATE Locks & Hinges - X0451
ROAD Test Vehicle - X0453
INSPECT Air Filter - X0454
7,500 Required Service - Z1117
INSPECT Propeller Shaft - Z1235

And the estimated damage is $132 w/ me supplying my own oil/filter and them rebalancing and rotating my PS2s.

It is a rip off. I went ahead and did mine also just so that I could say that I had it done.

Did you use regular or synthetic oil? I'm thinking of using Mobil-1 on my 7500 mile service. Is it recommended?

I've been using synthetic since the 1200 mile break-in....

Mine will go next week for the same service. Yeah rip off but it might be money well spent if I have a complaint later - hassle factor eliminated.

i went to discover infiniti in san diego today for my 7500 miles service, and the rep said "since we can't balance and rotate the tires, there's not point in doing the full 7500 miles service" i got the stamp in my book, my oil changed, and the mud from the recent rain rinsed off for $39.01.

after reading all the posts, i was pleasently surprised.

Personal opinion for those scheduled maintenance plans......a BIG scam to make money for the dealerships. I can look at my wipers and fluid levels just like they can....for free.

My philosophy, don't fix it till it's broke. But to each his/her own...
