Default Test drove the Coupe - I'm in love!!!

After being told by one dealership that they don't allow test drives [dunno] and another that they didn't HAVE any to test drive, I despaired of ever getting behind the wheel of this car! But I kept calling and finally just the other day it happened. Wow!

Jimmy at Mission Viejo, CA had a CB AT Prem Sport in. I must say, if you want to test drive the coupe, this is a great dealership to test it at. Great roads, good people. We drove down Marguerite to a nice, straight, very inclined freeway onramp and he told me to floor it. He'd told me beforehand to watch the tachometer. Sure enough, the tranny perfectly shifted from the optimum (6.8k?) down to the regular (4.5k?) in barely a tenth of a second. After watching this shift twice I noticed I was doing 85 and let off the gas. Hehehheheh! []

Then we went over to a little street called Hillcrest, which looks just like it sounds - a little two-lane street with plenty of twisties. He had me slow down to a crawl so the cars in front of me could get way ahead, and then told me to punch it and just go. At first I was cautious, but he kept encouraging me to go faster. I was amazed when I took a sharp left corner at about 45mph - my body was sliding to the right, but the car railed it. If I'd'a done that in my Camero, I'd've been toast. [angel]

He also showed me photographs they'd taken of the one coupe they had in that had the $2900 aero body kit on it. It makes the car look more agressive but the price was way too high for me! I put a deposit down for a black prem sport. I'm hoping they get a refusal on the ones they already ordered (yeah, right!) because if it takes too long I may get impatient and get it from another dealership if they get one in first, and I'd rather give Jimmy my business because he was so cool. [8D] Car heaven is so close yet so far... [:I]

Toldja, toldja, toldja, Shelleycat! Knew you'd like 'em at MV Infiniti. Don't know Jimmy, but having worked with about 5 of the people there, they really make you feel good. Car sounds superb. And it sounds like you drove the wheels off the demo. Good for you.

And you know what, even tho you might be able to get it somewhere else sooner, my vote is give the good ones (dealers and salepersons) your biz so they remember to keep being good people----positive reinforcement, y'know. I know it's your new ride and sooner is better, but just think if all the dealers were like the ones who won't let you test it, or who treat you like crap. I stuck with MV for almost four months. I'm not sorry. I won't even give my service dollars to the ones who treated me poorly, and that's gonna hurt 'em more in the wallet.

Good luck!

Yep, you did! Thanks Bond-man! I never would have had the nerve to drive that way if he hadn't encouraged me hahaha.

I should be able to wait until MV can take care of me - I don't even have the FUNDS yet, but that should happen by mid-June.

Thanks again for your assistance! [bowdown]
