OEM 18" Wheel Question - Tire Change

Just put my snows on my OEM 18" wheels on my 04 coupe and had the rims slightly scratched. I was wondering if others have had this issue changing tires on the wheels. The shop said they have the correct machine that would not scratch the wheels. The said they do newer OEM vette wheels which are also sensitive to scratches and never had an issue. My wheels are scratched on outter lip but not through the finished paint... but can see some marks on all four wheels. Has anyone else has this issue with changing tires?
