what 0-60 time did you bet on? car and driver tested the 2003 or 04 at 5.5. i would imagine it being MAYBE 5.4 or 5.3. the 19 inch rims might take a way from any gains from the extra hp. leaving it at 5.5 still? haven't seen any official reports tho.

Weren't the C&D "corrected" times for altitude etc.? MT had 6.1 I believe but that was uncorrected. Ha ha, I can see getting a race and making the run. You jump out of your car after getting nicked by .3 of a sec. Wait a minute, I have to correct my times! [lol]
What I can say is definately around 5.6-6.0 depends who is driving. One of my friend who just got the 6MT G35 timed 5.7 0-62MPHs and he does know how to drive well. So I am guessing around there should be right.

wouldn't the 19's inch rims counter the increase in hp, making it hardly different than an 04, especially since 04 numbers have already been notes at as low as 5.6 sec

Don't forget about the added 77 lbs. weight on the 2005 6MT. Combine this with the 19" rims, I look for the 0-60 times to be approx. what they currently can run now. The extra hp is great, but the drop in torque is also going to affect the 0-60 times.
Add a CAI and an exhaust and those 5.2 - 5.5 times should be a reality. . . but alas I am just a Canadian who has not got their 2005 G yet . . . so what do I know. [hammer]

I had read a thread about a guy down here who compared a stock 18's versus 19's run through the 1/4. He was about 0.3 seconds slower with the 19's. He did not mention what the 19's were, so it's kind of hard to get a good idea of what additional weight (if any) the 19's carried.

The PEAK torque number is lower. But with 18 more horsepower, there is extra torque somewhere. I trust Nissan power train guys will be able to let those 18hp show.
The extra weight should not be a burden either if you think about the power to weight ratio. The 04 car puts 12.5lb on each horsepower, but the extra 18 horses on the new car only need to carry 77lb (little over 4lb/hp).
The 19' WHEEL is larger, but the tire profile is smaller -- overall diameter between the 18's and the 19's should be within 1mm. So there should be no leverage advantage from the 18's either.
The traction of the rubber will be important. Since the G will be traction limited at the launch, the tire traction and the driver's skill to maximize the traction are going to determine the final few 10th of a second. But all things being equal, I expect slightly better performance from the 05 coupe, and significantly better from the sedan 6MT. []
