So to my dismay, I went to remove my front plate today(which the dealer had pre-installed[!]) and I found out that they had removed the plug that covers the towing bar. I looked around the car and it is not in there. I gave the dealership a call and they said they do not have any. They were willing to give me the next one of a IP coupe that came in.
Is it just me, or should I have it now, doesnt the car come with it. Now I have to wait until a 05' arrives since this dealership is the only one in my state. Why would they be stealing these parts and acting as if its ok.

Yeah the car comes with it, my dealer put it in my trunk when they took it off. That sucks that they took it, probably some other guy needed one like you and they swapped it from your car. [dunno]

I think you should get it as it comes from the factory.
The cars I've seen down here all have the plate holders pre-drilled, so I got stuck without one. I have to display the front plate so I don't get stuck in this situation. The crappy thing is that I have two holes in my front bumper that I can do without....no choice in installing an aftermarket license plate holder.
They seem to be where all the left socks are. This stuff seems to disappear before it gets to the dealers. Probably the port takes them off before shipping them.

It's reusable. The ass clown dealer I bought my car from also drilled the front bumper, even AFTER I told him not to.[banghead] (Man, did that piss me off!!!)
Anyway, try www.bumperplugs.com. I have them installed and it looks decent. Better than two black holes in the bumper, IMHO.
i live in new jersey where the front plate in required.... but i bought in PA - where it is not.
i am in NO WAY either drilling into my bumper OR displaying a stupid front plate to interfere with how great the front of my G looks.
The chance of getting pulled over for that is slim... they might ntice it if pulled over for soemthing else - but really how often does an officer look at the front??
worst case senario - i get a non-moving violation ticket - which i'll pay -- worth having the front clean. STUPID NJ laws!
but anyways - about the clip -- i was just at my local NJ dealership (Holman) and a couple of the coupes there were missing the clip -- looked dumb, like there was a hole in the front of the car.......

since i bought in PA i had to goto an NJ inspection station for the sticker - which they just do a visual inspection (not full) and check license/reg/insurance. i waited to tint my windows til after inspection (their getting tinted on monday). but i knew i was going thru inspection without a front plate - but ready to say that the dealer was ordering me a drill-less plate holder to not drill into my $39,000 car. But when i got there i realized i had forgotten to take my clear corners back off-- another obvious violation...
however, the guy loved my car so much he didnt care - he was asking all about it - saying he was thinking about getting it - and comparing it to other cars.
so i got lucky on that....
but yeah, i am not putting an ugly NJ plate on the front of my G!

Are the plugs really that noticeable? Becuase I have a black coupe and the bastards at my dealership also drilled into the bumper to put the front plate on...I do have a front plate on currently and I am not a big fan of it [!] I was just gunna see if the dealership could fill em in and reapaint it for me.....dont know if thats possible though
As for the plug situation....When I got mine the plug was located in the glovebox, but I have also heard of people finding it in the armrest. Might wanna check around a few nooks and crannies [dunno]
