Default Reported for speeding in the company garage

Ok, so I have a penchant for exhaust reverb off the walls and roof of the garage. I usually pull in, accelerate pretty hard in the garage to about 30-35, then lay on the brakes for a turn into the bottom level.

Through that time, I make a lot of noise. And, really, I'm moving fairly fast for a garage. Of course, it's 06:30 in the morning, and there are all of 8 people at the office when I pull in - 3 are building security who laugh about it. []

An e-mail went to the company indicating that the speed limit in the garage is 5mph, not 55mph. No names were mentioned, but most everyone in my department (IT) knew who was guilty before anything was said. [angel]

Anyways, as I've raised a little consternation with my driving habits I'll be calming it down a little bit to keep the natives happy. I never got in this much trouble in my other cars. But, then, I think I've enjoyed this car more than any other, too.

Woohoo!

Kal.

My GReddy does that. I love pissing off overly-sensitive alarms in school parking structures.

Course I'm never in school anymore, and the GReddy's off the car.

We have a rent-a-cop in my company garage that writes tickets and sticks them to the window! I have received several tickets for speed, parking backwards, taking up two spots, going the wrong way etc. But I must say.... a ticket without a consequence just doesn't have the same effectivness.

I do these things too at several places that I think may be offensive. I always fear that this day would come and one "fun park" will be closed. Actually the fear is that one day a cop will be called in to wait for me at the bottom level of that garage. I tried thinking about excuses if that happens, but nothing reasonable came to mind. Suggestions?

I'm glad you guys all do this too.

There's a 12 story parking garage in Boston that I park in when we go to this particular club on some Friday nights. Oh baby....11 stories going up, and another 11 on the way down worth of exhaust reverb!

Happy Happy!!!

yeah... its funny. the average person would hate to park at the top... but i find myself rolling down my windows and enjoying the "tedious" ride up.

Our building security laughed about it, the building engineer saw me come in one day and completely cracked up when he saw how I went into the garage. When this person registered their concern, they even admitted they'd probably do the same thing if they had a car like this.

Nope, no ticket, just a warning to slow it down. It's not nearly as much fun pulling into the garage going so s-l-o-w.

I park on the roof of our garage when my inside corner spot is taken - a rarity given that I get here at 06:30.

Collect them all!

Also, "parking backwards"??? If anything that should be encouraged as it makes pulling out much safer and easier.

Hahaha! You can still have fun, just get there a little earlier and beat the person that complained! You only have 5 people to beat in since the other three are cool about it.

Not sure if they can do this, because I think police can only give speeding citations in places where the speed limit is defined by law, and I think parking garages are outside this. They can probably get you for reckless driving or something like that, though.

Ah, exactly what I am afraid of. My parking garage fear wasn't literal because I had never showed up at a garage where you have visibility around the U-turn (6:30 is simply too early for me). My real problem is turning from a 50mph street to another 50mph street. You can have a nice slide under the speed limit, but I don't think the cop will ask me what speed I was going.

Has anyone been pulled over for this kind of ...?
