Vanos,
I eat up my coworkers 04 330ci all day. I'm not sure where your comparison results came but my G took his car pretty bad several times leaving work. I'm sure his 330 being auto plays a roll too.
Yes, the fact that it's auto plays a major role. It's noticeably slower than a manual 330ci, and 330ci ZHP. Also, manual 330 vs manual G35 = drivers race. I raced alot of G35's with my 330, and I won some & lost some. They are quick cars, but they aren't any quicker (noticeably) than a 330ci manual.

Being a new G35 coupe owner who just came from an E46 M3, and also previously owned an 02' 330ci, I can say this....

Vanos, when did you get your G because on friday you said you owned a 3 series.

I traded my M3 on Sunday at Montclair Infiniti in Montclair, California. If you live in the area, you can stop by and check it out. I talked to my sales rep yesterday, and they said the car is still sitting where I left it.......dirty, and waiting to be sold to Assael BMW.
I know the 350 and the g35 are practically the same car.
But the refinement on the g35 surpasses the Z.
I would definitely make the trade, that's only if you don't take a big financial hit. And stay away from BMW's. Worst electronics ever.
I tried searching for the topic but didn't have much luck. I currently own a Z and I'm thinking of selling it in the next few months and purchasing a Gcoupe. There are a few things I I really don't like about the Z. 1) It is so loud inside...hard to talk on the celly. 2) Transmission is clunky (6mt). 3) Sound system is horrible. 4) Very impractical for every day driving (no trunk space). 5)Really bad blind spots. 6) And the mighty tire roar!
I'm wondering if any of you have sold your Z and bought a G how does it compare in the above areas. How does the acceleration compare?

Your assessment is incorrect. Current BMW's do not have bad electronics. I dunno if you're referring to the criticism given to I-Drive (5 & 7 series), or if you're referring to electrical issues of the past. If it's the former, that's a matter of opinion. If it's the latter, BMW's haven't had major electrical issues since the E36, and 99/00 E46's. Of course there are always the exceptions, but overall, major electrical issues aren't a problem with current BMW's.
AUrrea .........Ok, make me a Congratulations thread and we'll be good friends. =)
5 window regulators within a 2 yr period for my lady's bmw 3 series.
And don't tell me that I'm incorrect.

Window regulators would not fit the profile of "worst electronics ever"!!!!!
However you want to classify the repeated amount of problems that I've had with BMW's, it's the worst.

Granted, your lady's BMW might have had other problems, and your distaste may be justified, however, that's not always the case with BMW. Case in point, while owning my 330ci, I had no mechanical problems whatsoever other than a 1 or 2 blown passenger door Harman Kardon speakers (I dunno what it is about that passenger side, but it was always sounding funny). While owning the M3, the main issue I had were with those stupid door seals, and that was due to the glue used in Germany (manufactured for cold weather) vs the glue used in the U.S. (manufactured for hot weather). I had a xenon and a fog light go out, but they were replaced under the "full-maintenance" warranty. Other than that, no other issues! BMW has nuances, but so does Infiniti and every other auto manufacturer. Sorry to hear about your problems, and I hope the dealer rectified them in a proper timeframe and without hassle. Personally, my girl has had far worse issues/service with Nissan of America than I've had with both of my BMW's combined.
AUrrea, you're a wild one. LOL....I'll remember to have my verbal boxing gloves on just in case. =)
Actually the reason I had originally strayed from an '04 or '05 330 is due to the remodel in '06. I've seen a few pictures of the upcoming model and I know everyone is down on the new BMW designer (Bangle) but call me weird...I really like the new 5 series. My goal is to keep my next car 2-3 years and then get a '07 M3.
It seems you get more bang for you buck with the G...but I guess the best idea is to go drive them. When pricing a 330 the options add up very quickly. Before pricing I thought you could get a loaded one for around 38k...but after pricing one out it is more like 45k.
I can see how much you guys love your G's and I'm feeling left out [].
Thanks for the recommendations on checking out the '05 sedans I've heard/seen a few posts here showing the new pictures of the backend...seems a little hard to tell the difference. Does anyone know when the Infiniti website will be updated? Nissan updated theirs a week or so ago. I guess I will have to wait for a few more months to see what the '05's look like[banghead]!
Thanks again![cheers]

Good luck bro! And by the way, Bangle's designs have sold really well despite what message boards would lead you to believe. Bangle's been with the company since 91' or 92' I believe, and he's recently been promoted. He isn't going anywhere, and his designs are here to stay. I can't wait for the new coupe to come out in 07'. The new sedan should be out next year.
