i've got about 17,000 miles and i still have about 50%+ pad left for the front/rear...

i guess it all depends on your driving habits and where you drive...

When they start squeeling.

The OEM ferodo pads have squeelers that will let you know when the pad is low.

My G35 went through a stage of squeeking between 7k and 12k MIles. Now they dont squeak at all. I was looking for them to squeak again telling me I needed brakes, but so far, nothing.

I aint complaining

hopefully their not digging into your rotors.... usually they squeak for a while then they get past that - stop squeaking and start ruining your rotors....

i mean - im probably (and hopefully) wrong -- but this has happened to me before.

The grinding sound would be unmistakeable, even to someone non-mechanically inclined. Anyone who heard the sound of brakes grinding would know that something is wrong. In lieu of that fact...the Brembros are known to squeak quite often at low speeds(not indicative of a problem, so they say) and in reverse.

Especially when you haven't driven the car for a day or more, or when it rains. This is usually because of rust starting to form on the rotors, but the rust(and most of the squeaking) wears off after you brake a few times.

The squealing is VERY apparent when your pads are at their wear indicators... it will not intermittent. It will squeal while driving, and stop when you depress the brake pedal.

I just realized I said squeel before... lol - NOT the spelling bee wizard.
