I can not stand people who don't watch there kids. [!] The neighbor kid was riding his bike around and he decided to stop himself from falling by leaning on my hood. It didn't dent the hood but I noticed a small dent like a circle right above the square where the front plate would be. I am very annoyed. It seems to be right where his pedal is. Oh well just alittle venting. Have a great day everyone.
Neighborhood full of kids here, too. My G is never outside of a garage, though. From the garage here to the garage at work. Talk about piece of mind.
I think I read that the hood on G's is extremely flexible because of it being manufactured a special way to provide extra crumpling in the event of an accident. Not suprised that a neighborhood brat would be able to flex it a little by just leaning on it.

I can't wait to have a garage right now I don't have one but my new house has a 2 car garage. I can't wait my baby will have a nice place to be out of the weather and away from neighborhood brats. Not all kids are bad don't misunderstand anyone please. Just the few next door to me are so under disciplined it's not funny they run wild all over at all times of day too.
I know what you mean... being a parent, it drives me nuts when I see neighbors (or other parents in other places) completely ignoring the "actions" of their kids. I keep a pretty tight leash (maybe too tight sometimes), but parenting is a responsibility that too many people don't take seriously enough.
Oh man I would just sit by my window with a BB gun and take pot shots at any kids that come near my car. Then the word will spead and no kids would come near your car. JK, but seriously, sorry to hear about that, I get mad when I swirls on my car so if something like that happened to me I would be firely red with anger.
kloh - you know my feelings, amen to that. We had one neighborhood kid - you know, the one who has dumped his bike so many times that there is no more rubber handgrip on the ends of his handlebars - run his bike down the side of my 1 yr old Yukon XL. You can only imagine the ensuing conversation with his parents. And, NO, after I got done chewing them a new you-know-what they refused to repair it. I guess the apples don't fall too far from the tree there, irresponsible jerks all!
Needless to say, the new rule at our house is - ALL bikes, scooters, etc. are left in the front yard far, far away from the cars in the drive or garage. And the same goes for street hockey, lacrosse and base balls, etc. ("Sorry Dad, I just broke a shutter." Jeez, we got 5 acres to play on, why do you have to hit balls RIGHT AT the house?! lol). But I am deadly serious with them now, anybody doesn't respect 'The Rule' - no exceptions, no second chances - is no longer invited over to play and is PERMANENTLY BANNED from our pool (the only one on the street, hehe!). A couple of kids were hot under the collar about that this year, literally! Oh yeah, what goes 'round, comes 'round. The little snot referenced above was the first to get banned! []

I would have my kids beat the shiznit of the neighborhood brats who don't show respect. "My kid didn't beat your kid up on purpose, they were horseplaying and your kid lost. Sorry."
Hey Jaylin~ can I borrow your kids for a day?
I don't have any yet and the kids really don't take me too serious and neither do their parents. It's really annoying.

My G almost always goes straight into the garage for exactly this reason. Too many kids with bikes, scooters, skateboards, not to mention the basketball hoop right by the driveway.
However, when I do have the car out (usually if I plan to go right back out somewhere within the hour), my son takes care of it for me. He takes almost as much pride in dad's ride as I do and helps me wash and detail it. So when someone even attempts to drop their bike within 5 feet of it, they get repremanded. One day recently, there were 2 bikes in the driveway and a scooter in the street as I arrived home from work. He had the 're-entry runway' cleared by his buddies in no time at all.

Kloh: Don't ever think that you are keeping too tight a leash on your kids. I dated a girl last year that was exactly like your neighbors where she ignored the "actions" of her kid. She also liked to use the phrase of "you must pick your battles" with regard to disciplining her son.....I just wondered why there just happened to be no battles EVER!
Anytime that I hear of someone providing structure for their kids, I always make a point to thank them and tell them that I appreciate what they are doing. So, kloh, thank you and great job! Your kids will grow up well balanced and well rounded and will excell in society. keep up the good work!
dholly: I like the idea of the pool restriction rule. Great Idea! I'd love to say, "NO POOL FOR YOU!!! Sort of sounds Seinfeld-esque. []
