68% after 2 years and 50% after 5 years is ok I guess, considering you lose like 10-20% as soon as you drive off the dealer lot.
I am very surprised by Evo's resale value of 53% after 5 years, which is higher than the our coupes. I guess the Evo's and our coupes are one of the hottest cars on the market. That Evo's a good looking car 'tho.
I would never buy a used car like an EVO or WRX STI. Those cars are basicly built for the purpose of autocrossing. Anyone who buys them buys them to beat on for the most part...either at the race track or on the streets.
Older and more responsible drivers, for the most part, would rather be seen in a classier car like ours.
I was surprised by the estimated BASE MSRP of $35K (base on an '04 was $30K)

No shit! Good eye FF. I hope it's just an estimate (like they say).
I agree with Joey. Mitsubishi has had scandal after scandal regarding quality issues and I read a blurb in AutoWeek stating that Daimler-Chrysler isn't investing more money in Mitsubishi. When that happens (just like Oldsmobile) the company will die-on-the-vine....and so will their cars due to lack of support. I do not see values holding in that kind of environment. Also, isn't Mitsubishi combing the forums and not honoring warranties of people that put their cars on the track?
How did they figure a 2005 Dodge SRT 10 would have a top resale value of 68% and 53% at 2 and 5 yrs? I mean, you can hardly even buy one yet and they're claiming it as top resale dog, give me a break.
I looked on Kelly Blue book for my '04 6MT. All they had was a '03.
The private sale price was $33k. Looks like my car is worth more than I paid for it ($33k + $2k tax).
I've wanted to buy another one ever since someone posted getting a new 6MT at $500 over invoice a couple of days ago. That's insane! I just built a new one at the Infiniti web site and it was $39,108 MSRP. I gotta find what the invoice is on that. Although I know I would be better off just taking 10k and adding FI.

Yes, I am shocked that a Dodge anything has good resale value but it is a specialty vehicle. If you consider regular trucks, I'm sure the Toyota Tundra & Tacoma will be top. Noticed no domestics other than the SRT10. Can you imagine how bad the depreciation would be if you bought a Buick or Saturn or ...
