I am about to pick up my new coupe next week and I can't wait to slap in a borla exhaust/ztube/popcharger in but should I wait until the car's broken in first???
With the JWT popcharger, make sure you get the heatshield and that there is a good seal. If not you'll probably end up sucking in some of the air from you engine compartment.

really no reason to wait....as long as you keep it under 4,000 rpm for the 1,200 miles. If you think the mod is going to make it more difficult....then wait till it is over : )
That heatshield dosen't do dick...Short Ram is hot air, heat shield or no heat shield...If you want cold air, you need a CAI where the filter IS NOT in the middle of the engine compartment...

I don't agree. I've seen dynos that show shortrams make more power upper end & overall. If you are moving the difference between a CAI & a shortram is basically cancelled out by the movement of the car.
I think the mods you have listed are fine .. I just wouldn't lower the car for a while .. want to see if you have that tire feathering TSB and can get free alignment/tires.
Doesn't seem as common on G's as it is on Z's, but I've seen posts about it, so might as well be careful .. tires aren't cheap.
I'm not going by manufacturers dyno's but ACTUAL experience..I started out with the Z-tube/PC and it sounded great but was very sluggish in hot weather...I tried it with both the heat shield and without the shield...no difference...I switched to the Nismo CAI and felt a significant difference at the top end and in warm weather...Could be placebo effect, but I doubt it...the filter position is so much different... As for dyno charts, beware of manufacturers BS, it's all marketing...
I'm not talking about manu dyno's, we're talkin about end users .. at the old Maxima meets @ Stillen we compared a bunch of dynos b/t CAI's & JWT/Stillen shortrams .. shortrams made a lil more power, and cost less .. and IIRC were CARB EO unlike the CAI's.
Thanks for the info on the AC Line Legacy! A small peice of heater hose would fit nicely around the part that hits the retension ring on the ZTube to protect the AC Line. I keep all the original parts to the intake on my G in my Garage. If anything happens to the motor, I'll replace them BEFORE taking the car in for the dealer to look at.

no problem...
After finding out about this little touching that goes on in there I was a bit hesitant about putting in a Ztube..but I suppose it can be easily fixed so there is no real harm done
One additional question, is the tire and wheel package worth it? I've changed the rims on every car I've owned so far and since my close friend owns a tuning shop, I know I'll be changing the rims on this car in the near future. However I saw that the tire & wheel package comes with a rear differential. Is that worth the extra money?
