Default 05 Not comming till April??

I was reading somewhere that the G35 Coupe was going to have 295HP for the 05 model. Because of this upgrade, they just found out that the tranny cant seem to hold it, so they are going to hold the release of the Coupe till April. The Sedan though i heard is comming in October. Is this true? Can anyone confirm this?

Sounds like a good way to get those persons waiting for the 2005 coupe to buy out the balance of the 2004's.

It is very late in the game for Nissan to be finding this out. Seems even more shady when you mention that the sedans will be released in Oct.....same engine (& the 15 hp bump is not that large) so I would think you would run into the same problem on the sedan.

You might want to check up on the source of this information because it seems like [bs] to me.

Ya. Seems fishy to me as well since there are many supercharged G35's out there with 350 or so HP that deal with the power just fine. No car manufacturer would make a transmission so lame that a 15 hp bump would damage it.

Exactly my thoughts. There are supercharged/turbo G35's out here, and all seems to be going well so far. I'm going to try and come up with more info on this. But if any of you hear any info o this please let us know, thanks.

Dealerships - including sales people and service folks - are generally full of caca. Much of what is said comes our of their rear ends...

This being said, there are a select few who tell the truth and dont say what they are not 95%+ confident about. I dont think this story came from one of these select few.

I don't think the horsepower would cause a delay. When Kal and I went to the DFW G35 Owners' Club meeting, the rep was saying it was taking longer with the 6MT redesign. If this is the case, someone may have "sliped" the schedule if things were not going right. Hey, that never happens here where I work....[lol]...ours only slipped by 1.5 years on my project recently!

Anyway, this guess is all speculation. Some on here don't like speculation about the 2005 model. I however enjoy it! []

didn't the grubbs say the reason for the slip was the re-design of the manual transmission?

Re-design to make it better or eliminate problems in the current unit seems like a reasonable reason for the delay but as I said before I am sure its not because the unit could not handle the extra 15hp.

That is not right Because my friend got a 1995 Nissan 300ZX Turbo and it said in the book that the trany can hold up to 600Hp. How can 2005 car can't do 295Hp!!!!!!!. That is just crap they just want u to buy all 04 they got left.

I never said the transmission could not handle the horsepower. The redesign of the 6MT was not for those reasons.
