Default Paint/Powdercoating '05 Rims

Well, I think I will be getting the '05 Coupe in DG with the 19" wheels. I was thinking that maybe I should paint them a nice gunmetalish color. I was wondering where I would get something done like this and how much it would cost.

Also, owdercoating them was suggested to me. What do you think is better? Any one know the pros and cons of each? Thanks!

Powdercoating is a much stronger finish but much more expensive. Some metals will react poorly to the heating required to bake on the coating as well, so do some research on the wheels before having this done. The result is nearly instantaneous, you can take them out and put them on right after they finish drying.

Painting will be a lot cheaper, but you'll need to make sure the shop does a good bake and be willing to let the wheels cure for a while.

I'm with Kal. Get the powder coat if possible. Powder coat is definitely more durable, but would probably end up being more expensive.

This topic had come up before, so one alternative that someone suggested would be to think about anodizing. Shouldn't be a problem on an aluminum alloy. The anodizing will not be as durable as the powdercoat, but you can get more of a customized coloring (but not as much as paint) with it than you could with the powdercoat.
