Default Key Fob Distance and Passenger Seat Belt Rattle

Hello all. Just two quick questions - I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same two anyonaces as me, and if you have come up with some solution:

1 - To use the Key Fob to unlock/lock the doors, I have to be pretty close, I'd say w/in 10-15 feet.....kinda short distance don't you think?

2 - The passenger seatbelt seems to constantly hit the pillar and make that annoying "knock" or "rattle" noise. I've tried it both ways, leaving it in the vertical and the horizontal position ---- any suggestions?????

1) The distance has decreased as I've used it more, I assume due to battery fatigue. I'd imagine that there are two issues here both of which make this largely intentional:
a) More distance requires more power which means less battery life.
b) More distance increases the chance that someone can get to your car before you can...

2) I think there's actually a TSB about this. Complain to your service department. You now own a $40k car. You have the right to be a pain in the ass.

My perspective anyway...

Yes, whenever I turn down my stereo I have to listen to that darn passenger seatbelt hitting the pillar as well. The only solution I could come up with was to strap it in as if someone was wearing it.

I think Ill take Semi On's advice and complain alittle.

Try putting your remote on your chin when you use it, you will gain distance.

If you recline the passenger seat back so that the headrest lines up behind the seat belt hanger in the horizontal position, no more rattle.

That would explain why I haven't had the problem. My roommate sits way back in the seat so it's always very reclined.
