Does anyone else find that the lap portion of the seat belt rides too high? It should be lower and more across the hips, but mine always seems to run across my abdomen. I worry that if I ever did wreck (God forbid), I would be hurting because of the soft tissue that would be in direct contact with the belt. I have tried adjusting the connection point of the harness, but it always rotates back up. Moving the seat doesn't really help either because of the location of the clamp. I am a normal (in decent shape) person. 5'10", 165 lbs. Any thoughts?

My G has a plastic extension on the shoulder mount-point that pivots to support different driver's heights and locations. Might see if yours has this or if you can get one. According to the driver's manual, they are free from the dealer.
As far as the lap belt, I have the same problem. I believe the best alternative is to get another passenger lap belt latch and replace the driver's side with it.

I can tell you it is certainly a problem for me. To be honest, it is the most uncomfortable (and dangerous in my opinion) seat belt I have ever used. [thumbdn]

Yeah, the lap belt tends to ride an inch higher than I would prefer, but it isn't anything that's going to cause me harm in a wreck, IMO. By the time I slam forward against the belt either my hipbones will keep it from cutting me in half or, even if it hops up over them, the airbag will be there to put an end to forward motion. Oh, my wife found the edge of the belt rode against her neck, so I had to cut up a sheepskin belt wrapper so it would fit on the belt by her neck and not hold the belt away from fully retracting when released.
