Default 2K Performance Upgrades

Okay folks I have $2,000 dollars saved up for performance upgrades for the "G". Need your advice on which toys you would recommend given the same allowance. Already have the Z tube, however, would like to add some headers and Y pipe and that new APS Tall-Boy balanced distribution inlet plenum that is scheduled to come out around November. Any information on brand name recommendation, dealers and best price would be appreciated. Not sure if this requires a flash upgrade as well. Since technology is constantly changing do not what to do a search on old posts.

I appreciate any help or advice!

I saw something on G35driver about an autotranny mod that sounded good to me, as well. I know the dealer can provide a reprogram that is supposed to increase the shift speed. In general, I think mine shifts too slow. I'll do a search and post a link if I find it. I'm soon going for exhaust(headers, hi-flow cats, and cat-back) as well as the new plenum, depending on the dynos they release. After that, maybe a TS ECU. I want to save that for last. I think the exhaust alone will eat 2 grand.

The Borla only runs about $800, leaves some room for the Z-Tube/Popcharger plus a few other easy mods...

A nice set of coilovers will cost you about $2K. I got my Tein's + EDFC for exactly $2K installed. []. But then again, if you drop your car more than 1", you will probably need some camber kits to adjust the front and rear which will cost you more

If you want my honest opinion, I'd say put the two grand in the bank, keep the car stock (or fairly close) since it already rocks as it comes, and three or four years down the road when you're ready to trade up you'll have a bit more money to spend. Of course if you're already into racing and just want to squeeze out some more performance for competetiveness, then upgrade away I don't know all that much about performance but my hunch would be that if you were doing anything other than dragracing then the coilovers or some other suspension upgrade would give you more bang-for-the-buck than the minor hp upgrades from intake/exhaust would give.

Don't waste your money on headers because they look pretty and that's all. Get the plenum, HFC, and cat back exhaust with y pipe.
