Default Taking my son to Skip Barber

on July 20-21 in Lime Rock CT. I have been promising that we would do the performance school together when he got his license. I'm a year late. He lives in Michigan with his Mom so it was tough to schedule! Should be fun.

I have been before but I wanna try it in FWD cars! They had bimmers when I went.

sounds like it's going to be a blast. I plan on doing something similar when my son comes of age... but I have about 11 years to go!

Enjoy yourself!

I'm jealous- I want to go back. My wife and I did it almost 3 years ago, and it was great. Most of the exercises are done with the front drive neons. I was impressed with how capable a little car that is. And the viper drive on the autocross is the crowning moment.

There were some parents with their kids at the same session we were at. It really gives the kids an appreciation of not only the capability of a car, but the immense responsibility that comes with getting behind the wheel. My kids are young yet, but we'll be taking them too when they're ready. Have a great time, and report back to us.

I did it maybe 6-7 years ago when they had 3 series BMW's. It was a lot of fun and very educational as well. Nothing more fun than the spinning exercise right off the bat and the autocross the last day. They used to let you run your own car the last day as well. Don't know if they allow that anymore. I guess we'll find out.

Now, if they do allow, just who would be driving the G at that last day Auto-X? You or your 17-y.o.? I say make his day and the most of your time together - give him the keys and hope the cones don't hurt too much! Then take your car and show him who's still boss, if you can...[8D]
