Default Microfiber towels are awesome

Just finished washing the car and I'm amazed at how much water the microfiber towels can pick up. I'm ordering a few more to use to wash the car with now ... no more sponges for me. I was able to dry the entire car with a single towel. Just wanted to share my shock and joy

So that's where you've been. I haven't heard from in awhile (an hour or more).

Mircofiber towels are the best!! That's all I use on my G (except for the wheels).

actually i dont completely dry my G. After each wash, i California Wipe it off. then i use the absorber to soak up as much as i can, with no regard to water spots and junk. After it's completely dry over time, i quick detail it with Mother's to get rid of the water marks and junk.

The water blade works fine for me, I just have to make sure it's clean.

I hate jersey's hard water ... I usually get a filter but I forgot today. Water spots all over the windows ... any suggestions without rewashing the car?

I hear many tout these "microfiber" towels...where can they be purchased?? Mail order only? Anyone see them in a retail outlet?? In sunny So. Cal??? I'm a nut about keeping my car clean and I gotta say that the G is much easier to wash, many flat surfaces with not much molding..... One thing I have noticed; dirty water runs out of doors on the forward edge and stains (I have silver G) the lowers below the door. If anyone else is fighting with this issue I have found it helpful to put masking tape (I use 3M blue) right under the seam where the door meets the front fender....the staining water runs over the tape and when all dry, after first quick drive, I pull the tape.....voila! Thanks for any info on the microfiber towel...happy motoring!

I've used a "California Water Blade" for about 5 years. I make sure it is clean before using it. I park outside in the Seattle area and use it every morning most of the year to sheet the water off the hood, roof and windows before driving. Takes about 5 minutes. No scratches yet and I have looked for them.

All my car cleaning stuff comes from these 2 places.

<http://www.properautocare.com/index.html>
<http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc>

I just got a water blade yesterday and tried it for the first time last night. It is kind of scary using it. I used it on the bigger areas and then microfiber towel it dry. No obvious scratches, but I won't get a chance for a complete look over until tomorrow.

Looks real nice after the following (which I did yesterday evening)
1) wash wheels with zaino soap, water, brush
-- take break --
2) wash car with zaino soap, water, sea sponge
3) water blade car (this step may or may not stay)
4) dry with microfiber towel
-- take break --
5) shine with microfiber towel and zaino shine enhancer
6) shine wheels with cotton towel and zaino shine enhancer
-- take break --
7) wash windows with water, microfiber towel, and cotton towel
-- next day --
curse god when it rains for 15 minutes at the end of the day just before you go home - AND I LEFT MY WINDOWS AND SUNROOF CRACKED - AHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I like to blow dry mine with a leaf blower first to remove the bulk of the water.

It works so good around the mirrors and other spots where water hides, plus it is so fast.

I got mine from a local person who is a distributor for Zaino. Before you guys call the [bs], Hawaii is just one of the lucky few places where we have to go through the middle man (Art)...can't go directly to Zaino to order. He's fair on the prices though.

Anyway Art's talking to me about microfiber towels. He's convinced me that there are different quality microfiber materials. The cheap stuff is definitely of a different grade than the brand Art was selling. The cheaper towels are more likely to have edges that aren't sewn as well and do not feel as puppy-dog-skin soft as the ones Art had.

I use the cheaper ones I had bought at NAPA/Checker to wipe down the interior, use Art's for the exterior paint.

Sorry, I don't remember the name of Art's towels, but will look around for the packaging & post if I find it.
