Default Super Chargers for G35 Coupe

Okay, I have had my GCoupe about a year now, it has a whole 5k miles on it, time for some upgrades to my toy. Would like to hear from people whom have installed superchargers on their GCoupe and how they are liking it. Type of SC installed, results, performance, wear on the car..... pictures too would be great.

Love it. I don't have pictures, but you can find plenty of pictures on the web. (It looks the same.) You can read my numbers below. I also posted my dyno in another thread. I've had no problems except one: The belts are so close that they cut through my air conditioner line! The guys who installed it did it right, and it was ATI that said "oh-well, add a bracket." They did it for free.

I'm getting 5at. I heard if i wanted to go with twin turbo... i should go with 6mt but I'm getting 5at anyway. Does supercharger work good with 5at? how much is it? Does spuercharger work good just by it self for example without performance aftermarket headers, exhaust and etc?

Is there any particular reason why you are getting auto tranny?

Manual tranny cars are usually more powerful in each gear in comparison to an auto because you have a smaller gear range in each gear(more gears), which results in more acceleration in each comparative gear of a manual transmission vehicle to that of it's auto tranny counterpart. Wow..that was an impressive runon sentence by me.

How much power can the stock auto tranny handle anyway? Also ... I hope you people with forced induction did get some better breathing in the form of an intercooler for the car as well. I'm not certain bout our G but I know a few people who thought they'd be fine charging their cars without cooling the breathing and it was a costly mistake

Recommend that you to talk with John Isbell at Grubbs Infiniti. Very sharp person to discuss options on supercharger vs turbo and the pro's and con's of each systems. The technology in force air inductions has made many advances in the last year. It's worth you while to talk with John and get his incite. I personally would go with the twin turbo set-up myself, which he guarantees 360 hp at the rear wheels…. AWESOME!

I honestly like the twin turbo myself as well. It is a bit more money, and I have heard it is a little harder on the engine. It wasn't available when I purchased my SC, so I went with the best I could find. I'm pretty happy with my 366 rwhp.

I cant really answer for sure but 2 smaller twin turbo has less turbo lag then 1 single larger turbo. but having 2 turbos... i'm concerned about reliability... since its double the chance of having problem. but i dont know... its me talking. but having twin turbo does sound really really good.

Lets say I do get 6mt... and twin turbo... I know I'll need exhaust system, headers, intake i believe comes with the turbo set, what other part would i need that has to do with engine breathing? I know it needs intercooler which comes with the turbo by the way.

intercooler!! Look into what comes with the turbo and upgrade if you feel the need. I know so many people who over look this piece as unnecessary and it really isn't. I love how blow off valves sound on bi-turbo setups. If i'm gonna chance two turbos I'd get different sized ones. Small one to spool quickly and a larger to take better care of delivering the high end power. I've never been a fan of the twin-turbo setup

Kango,

I'm pretty sure that you can either have the headers or the TT but not both. I like the PE TT kit, but am waiting to see what the Top Secret kit will do, and also a bit interested in the HKS supercharger as well.

I found this SC in a thread months ago - I thought it looked pretty sweet. Does anyone have this setup?

I've had a TRD supercharger on my 4Runner for the past 5 years.
It's been great and I've had no problems.

Now that I just purchased a G35x I'm thinking about possibly getting a supercharger on it in the next year.

From your thread above it looks like there is one made for the G35 AWD - yay!

Price is $6,200 tho!!! ouchies!

The only thing I don't like about the Greddy TT is that you would have to take out your bumper reinforcements to add in their intercooler.. in essence if you hit something going 5mph+ your intercooler and radiator is pretty much gone.. and I'm sure you'll have a field day getting any type of coverage once your adjuster sees it.. other than that it would be my choice cuz its the only carb legal turbo kit

The stillen kit would require a new hood, so that basically leaves us with the ATI Procharger.. now if only they would make it carb legal.. oh well..
