Wow, look at the difference in cornering power for the Eagle GS-D3 between the dry and wet conditions. The Eagles only lost 0.02G to rain. (And the other Max Performance tires only lost 0.03!)
That's impressive, and shows that tire technology is very definately improving. (The Eagle RS-As show what older rubber does in those conditions.)
Cool post, thanks!

Hmm...I think the latest review shows test results of the new Pilot Sport PS2, not the old Pilot Sport that most are familiar with. The GS-D3 was rated over the original Pilot Sport, but that appears to have now flip-flopped with the new PS2. It should also be noted that the new review does not include a wear rating for the GS-D3. I have seen several posts that suggest they wear better than the old Pilots, and wonder if that could factor in the review of the PS2 vs. GS-D3.

ummm...if you guys actually click into the michelin pilot sport ps2 link, you would notice it is not the same tire that our cars come with. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
You are correct; they tested the next generation Pilot Sport PS2, not our current tires. You can easily tell by the tread pattern.
My bad, fellas. If the PS2's are available when my coupe needs new shoes, that's what I'll be getting. In any case, I'm pleased with the OEM Pilot Sports - a couple weeks back I was blasting down the highway at 95 mph+ in the middle of a drenching thunderstorm where water was standing everywhere and the OEM Michelins didn't so much as twitch.
One thing to keep in mind when replacing tires is that tires make a huge contribution to how a car drives, rides, sounds and feels. Going with tires that may cost a bit less may end up disappointing we spoiled G owners. Cheaper tires may not perform as well and as I have experienced often even sound different, often louder, than good OEM's.... I've always thought it good to find someone who is already riding on the tires that I am considering for my ride installing and asking them what they think....just make sure it isn't a tire co. rep.....
I have Pilot Sports as OEM tires too and they do pretty well during autocrosses and flying up and down expressway ramps. They are starting to get low on tread depth. I'll probably go with the new version of the Pilot Sports.
