OK, I went to the dentist so I had a little time off work...
thought I would go over and haggle a little (first attempt) and see if I could even locate the brilliant silver, graphite, prem for trade or on its way...no dice on that by first glance...listened to the stereo and decided I could live with it for at least a year or two and that was a big, big hurdle...huge!!!...and it has been jumped.
Waited awhile for Mr. Sales and that is always a mistake...
I got the typical 1500 off MSRP is going to get me in trouble with my boss but it could happen if we were pressed, maybe maybe maybe...blah ble blah be blah blah blah..
yea, yea.
...which puts me right at 35,000 with the 6.75 sales tax...out the door...
[boxing]
then I just got the pout look on my face, let him know I was disappointed...and what time does Dayton store close?...is that 70 miles, I am thinking about a drive...he talked some pointless chatter..I left the store...
bought voodoo doll on way home, jabbed it several times saying "YOU WILL GIVE ME THIS CAR, YOU WILL GIVE ME THIS CAR, YOU WILL GIVE ME THIS CAR".
Oh, yea ....I forgot...at one point I huffed and said 34? try 32,500.
It was a much longer chat and full of cat and mouse...but that was the first round and thank you for the advice on round two, I will get the bikini out if it comes to that...
Have you considered making them fight for your business?
My roomie bought a 04 accord right after they came out by simply purchasing a package off the internet which gave competitive prices from other customers' experiences, as well as a fax sheet and information packet. I was suprised when it worked really well. He got such a good price from one dealership that when the others email'd him back (takes out the time factor and the arguing) and he told them the price he got, they said "you better take that, thats a great price".
Im definately going to buy my next new car this way. Saves hassles and time. This might be a little harder b/c in some places infiniti dealers are not quite as common.
Yes, I will now be checking Cincinnati and Dayton...
I have sold my car this week for 2K, I have the loan approved for 35,000 and I have the cash for the downpayment since I told my car buyer to just pay me 100 a week for awhile since he is letting me drive it around until I find my new car for as long as that takes...
my hang up...not in the mood to be ripped off...ever...if being a drama queen can get me another 500 off that is fine, if driving to Dayton or making some calls is what it takes...I'll do it...
Anyone want to live vicariously...give me your best one liners for car salesmen...
You need to be patient like I said before. Don't let the time is the factor that make you desperate. If you do, you may give in and ended up paying more. Remember salemen live for this stuff. They are good at this and you are not. Let odd be on your side.
You could do this. Cheers!!!!!

Just the "blow by blow" un-unique story..

Oh, you mean that kind of "blow by blow" [:O]. I got excited for no reason.
yea, that's another story...the one about my tongue ring...
I think it was an ok sign that they said 1500 off MSRP...I mean that was the first chat...they wouldn't say their final breaking point the first time we talked money...or maybe they would...
I need someone to either hold my hand and say "there, there"...or someone to give me a spank and say "get that car, get it now, go get that thing, what are you an idiot, that's the price, you can afford it quit your belly aching and go back tomorrow and say 2000.00 off and I'll take it"...or some sort of opinion whatever it might be...harsh even...I like it rough...conversation that is...

Dang, I would've definitely jumped on that, hump it and then some. Being around in the Bay Area, these basTURDS won't budge on the MSRP, some lame ones even ask MSRP + ADM.

Why don't you stick a gun to the back of my head....at least I'll feel better about that price. [boxing]
Well, maybe 1500.00 off MSRP is not too bad to start after hearing 900 and a little over 1000 and thinking about it...I might wait a few days, go back in and say "here is my number (finally ready to trust you with it after almost two months), you know what I want so call me when/if you see one or get one and provided you want to sell it to me at XX,XXX.XX.
Maybe they keep my number and start to see it my way, maybe they say that chick nut is crazy and throw it out...
Oh, here is a one liner that sums up today...
"If you had the one I want parked outside, maybe I might be turned on hard by that price......but......you.......don't."
