Default Bird poop etched the paint on my hood

Had a nasty pidgeon poop right in the middle of my Laser Red G35 SC hood. It must have been on there a full day before I saw it. I washed the area with detergent, bug/tar spray and then waxed it but there is still the faint etching from the stain in the paint. Any recommendations how to get it out?

dude that sucks, it mustve gotten into the clearcoat. everytime i see crap on my car i immediately put a wet papertowel on it and then wait five minutes till it softens and wipe it off. you can try to rub it out with a light rubbing compound but if you rub too hard you'll rub into the paint too! waxing wont get it off, id say light polishing compound might be your best bet.

I had poop on my trunk. Dont know how long it was on there but it was dried up. As soon I saw it I got it wet and wiped off. nothing on the paint. I used crystal guard few days before so I'm hoping the CG protected my paint. I heard that if poo gets through the clear coat there is little you can do. Maybe try 3m swirl remover I heard that it might fill the coat in.

I don't know what birds are eating now a days, but it scares me that their ^&U*# can eat through clear coat! [shake]

I say we all help the environment and our car's finish and buy a bag of healthy seeds for the birds. (j/k)

I would try the suggestion IRONRICE gave and use 3M to remove the scratch.

Note to all; products like Zanio (& others) help protect the paint as well as make it look nice.
