Took the G in for the first time to local dealership(not same one I purchased from) to have a couple things checked including the paint on qtr panel. Guess what they tell me it looks like the quarter panel has been re-painted[censored]!! Can you believe that S!@#t??? Need advice as to what I should do. Few options I have thought of.
1) Honestly would rather have new same packaged vehicle - Re-Paint!!!!
2) Replace quarter panel with another factory piece from another coupe
3) Give back the vehicle(Not really sure if this is an option, but I am kind of pissed right now[rage])
If so, you should have some recourse with the dealer...Had similar thing happen with a 5.0 Mustang I bought new, paint started coming off in specs during car wash...Dealer wanted to re-paint, I said "fu[censored]that", and made them supply a "NEW" car, no re-paint job...after much wrangling, they did...
I agree with mofo. If it was supposed to be a new car that you bought, it should not have any "repainted" panels. If you don't get anywhere with that dealership, call Infiniti Consumer Affairs. 800.662.6200
1CRAZMOFO Yes indeed my car was brand new only 22mi on it when I purchased from dealer, I now have 800 miles on the vehicle. I have talked to the dealer I purchased from and will be taking it for them to inspect next Friday, they are aproximately 150mi away.[] Do you think it is a feasible recourse to ask for a new vehicle?
If you can prove that the panel was re-painted, and that you were sold the car as a new vehicle you can sue them. My friend had a similar thing happen (w/ an Acura CL). THe dealer was afraid of the suit and ended up giving him a brand new car.

Panel has several small ball point pen-head size "fish eyes" basically impurities, very faint ring where clear coat is supposedly shrinking and last but not least looks like over-spray and discoloration in engine compartment where panel is bolted. I truly do not think that this is the way it came from the factory.
holy shit.. I would get a new car + money back.. are you kidding me, Your car will JUST LOOSE MORE VALUE when you try to sell it "re painted" get a NEW car!!! with a lot of free oil changes!

I don't think that the car is repainted. What I think is that it has a bad paint job so do many Nissan cars. Don't think the dealer will give you a new car.it's not that easy
Don't settle for less than what you originally thought you were getting. You deserve a brand new car. I wouldn't want to drive around in that car even if they fixed it. I would wonder what else was messed up you know?
This probably will not be an easy situation to deal with I know, but I am seeking some legal advice tomorrow. Any attorneys out there? I am in the military and will be seeking some advice from the legal office they asked for me to bring in the papers. I will pick up the car and papers tomorrow where car is currently being worked on for warranty work. Need any other advice soonest before I take it to the original dealership I purchased from this Friday! Thanks in advance everyone and wish me luck on seeking a new vehicle!!!
Took G to a body shop today. Yep its offical the quarter panel has been repainted. He actually did not use any paint gauge, he showed me the very fine straigt lines where you could tell it had been sanded in that area. He also showed where it was blended into the bumper by the fine lines on the bumper and repaint as well. Time for a visit to the dealrship tomorrow. about a 150mi drive. Still could use any other advice before I see what the delarship has to say early tomorrow morning! Thanks for any and all advice!!!
