I'm curious is anyone has their sunroof tinted? I know there's a sliding cover, but the tint guys told me it would be an extra $20 bucks. Also, they mentioned something about challenging installation because the windows are frameless and they slide down just a bit when the door is opened. You have to heat the tint at the bottom of the glass little more during installation to get it to dry faster and not peel when the window slips as the door opens (remember you don't roll your windows down for several days after installation). Thoughts on each of these questions?
My neighbor has his sunroof tinted and I think its great. I hate driving with my sunroof shade open during the day as it lets in too much light. I was thinking about getting the sunroof tinted as well.
I have my sunroof tinted and I love it. They "doubled heated" the bottom edge of my door tint. Basically they just ran a blow torch across the bottom of my window. I can't see the difference between it and the rest of the tint. Everything looks great and I'm very happy with the install.

Just a Z tube and K&N drop in so far.
It is possible for the tint to lock heat into the glass causing it to shatter from extreme heat. I had to worry about this with my 3000GT when I got the moonroof (huge on the 3000GT). The installer (who also did my G35's tint) told me that he has only seen the shattering happen a couple of times in 12 years, but he still warned me nonetheless.
Factory tint is fine on mine. When I had my 98 Maxima, there was NO TINT on the sunroof. Cost me $40 to do it. Since it is a flat surface with no tricky corners, why not try tinting it yourself?
dude are u kidding me. Is it just my car that has a black sun roof. I think the tint is REALLY dark allrady on my sun roof... i dont know may be its just me
