Default G35 OEM seats weight

So I just weighted the seat exactly 72 pounds 33 kilograms, thats the driver side I had it out i thought it would be nice to know I assume the passenger is a bit lighter didn't do it cuz its tight were I was and there is to much snow to take the car out so only the driver side

I got wedge seat brackets for 70$ for both of them they r 22 pound both
Depend what seats i go for, but example bride they r 32 pound each
Thats around 85 pound in total for 2 seats brackets and sliders

So OEM around 145 - 85 = 60

Its not super precise but its somewhere there if u go for lighter seat u might get a bit more, maybe 70 80 pounds off

One last thing about the air bag, there is a way to bypass it with a 1/2 watt resistors to confuse the system that there is a airbag and not to mess around with the others and not get a light on the dash u can find the post it in g35driver its easy just google it

Sounds like you want to make your G a race car.

Chopping up the G to lose 700 - 800# would definitely be some progress !!

Like boosting hp 70 or something. At least we have an aluminum hood.

I know my OEM hood was bent inside and repaired, but one day i decided to put a 3m carbon sticker but i failed it so when i removed it, i removed the paint to and the hood was ugly so i aways wanted a real carbon fibre and i got one for 500$ seibon looks really nice but it weights a bit more than the oem imagine light weight my ass i was expecting at least the same weight

^^ that is a funny story !!

Some like the looks of cf and would go that route just for aesthetics though.

I recently read of production advances (not sure where I read it) that allow the time frame of producing cf to be significantly improved and should allow for a much better cost advantage.

What exactly is your GOAL here? The airbag remains OFF as long as the seatbelt is not in use (buckled), so they don't deploy and add expense to an accident if no one is sitting there. Not sure what year you have. Mine was 2003 and I needed to deactivate the airbag if my then 8 year old daughter was to ride in the front (because of safety-she as smaller). I wanted to install a switch to shut off the airbag but no one would touch that one (i.e., liability and possibility of accidental deployment w/Power surge or hitting the switch while in motion). I installed a rear seat belt to use in case my daughter was in the car, essentially fooling the system into thinking there was no passenger. Adults used the regular one.

Actually - its a pressure sensor under the seat that tells it to engage/disengage the pass air bags.
People tend to sit without their belts on

Unless they didnt have that in 03.
My 06 was a pressure sensor. Only reason i know that is cause i put my weighted vest in teh front seat and the "pass airbag off" light shut off (meaning it was engaged)

That is correct, 03 didn't have the air bladder air bag shut off like later models. I believe that feature was added because of smaller/lightweight people (eg, kids) and the danger air bag deployment. I would still think the airbag would NOT deploy unless the seatbelt was used, unless there is some sort of dual sensor that has a minimum cut off weight and one that senses the pressure of a person sitting there.
On older Gs, there is an electrical switch in the buckle when the tab is inserted lets the car know there is a person is there.

So if I confuse the sensor the driver side will be ok cuz i will keep the seat belt
Now i wonder about the passenger side
it might be on all the time if i confuse it I think this will be the case

I'm lost as to what you're trying to do Cell. Why are you playing with the air bag sensors?
