What is considered a good oil consumption for our cars?

Hmmm..... I'd say ~1 quart every 3k miles is tolerable. Mine only burns 1/2 quart or less

You can look at the TSB for the Nissan spec. After 1000 - 1500 miles the oil level should not be down more than 8 mm on the dip stick.

That's according to the TSB. Maybe it's because the engineers are in Japan. - Infinitihelp.com

My is at 2000 miles and the level a bit higher than low like 2 3 milimeters

It's an oil catch caN - Usually in place for turbo setups. It wouldnt help in your situation but you're not in bad shape as it is. Every car burns oil - these motors burn more than others.

A catch can is put in line with the vacuum line going from the pcv valve to the intake. It separates the oil(blowby) from the air. The oil goes in the can cuz it's more dense than air. There's a video on youtube where it did help the guy with OC
