Default Osiris Uprev tune issues. Any advice appreciated.

Hey guys,

Finally got around to installing my mrev2, 5/16" spacer, ART pipes and new spark plugs. I was absolutely shocked at how much extra power this produced, especially seeing how I hadn't tuned the mods.

I heard the uprev tune alone could warrant 15 hp so with the addition of my mods my expectations were very high. Unfortunately I only gained 10 hp and 9 tq from the tune and I feel like my car significantly less power. My friend who isn't into cars whatsoever even really notices the difference in power.

Anybody know what this could be?

Also doesn't 10 hp seem pretty weak of a gain for osiris considering the mods I've installed?

Thanks guys

Do you have dyno graph to post?

The first culprit I would look at is the tuner....the second is the car..

A dyno graph with a/f would help

yea. a graph would help, but id guess either a timing or a/f ratio issue

I'll post it when possible. For the meantime though the chart shows that I gained about 10 hp all throughout the band. Less then what I was expecting but still a consistent gain all throughout the band.

Yes, but taking you at your word you say you feel as if you lost power. Correct?

my experience is that you gain more throughout the curve than you do for peak numbers when tuning with Osiris. where did you get your car tuned? like the others said, that would be the first thing i question.

The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has it's limits...

Yes. I'm not too experienced with dyno charts but it seems like my power starts dropping off pretty low. The car reaches it's peak power at 5900 rpms and really starts losing power around 6350 rpms. Here is my Dyno chart: http://i.imgur.com/KmqvH0Q.jpg

I don't like the looks of that chart friend. I'm no tuner, but (1) there is no A/F ratio (2) The baseline looks extremely smooth [seems off to me] (3) that is a little early in rpms to be dipping off i think (4) the gains exactly paralell to the baseline, just moved [up]....I'm NOT a tuner..just my input

Here's a look at my chart for ya...

2005 revup - drop in filter - stillen cbe - ztube

I was 248rwhp baseline -> 265rwhp after
and 230rwtq baseline -> 237rwtq after

...sometimes things vary, so it may be ok, but feeling as if you lost hp is odd

Peak hp stock is 6400. tq is 4800. You have a dip at 6k. Looks like it could be ignition break up since it's so high in the rpm band. I'd double check all of your plugs/coilpacks

The tuner said my a/f ratio was 14-1 before starting which was apparently very lean though I'm not sure where it's sitting at now.

Before then tune I would feel a massive amount of power beginning at around 4000 rpm and now there is considerably less then before I even did any of these mods. It takes at least an extra 2 seconds to reach the 100 km/h (60 mph) speed limit by my house and in general my car feels really sluggish. I don't see how this could be happening as it appears that I have gained power all through the band compared to when I entered his shop. Maybe the tuner deleted my actual baseline dyno results when he saw that he screwed something up.

Thanks Stillen. When the person I know with the required tools is free again I'll pay them to have a look at the plugs etc. I don't see how this could be the case though because I installed the plugs about 1000 miles before the tune with no issues.

Edit: Also something else I forgot to add is that the car feels much less responsive. He was saying that an intake mod I did "tricked" my engine into thinking it has more power or something like that. Is there anyway he could have adjusted the air flow to match the fuel or is it only possible to adjust the amount of fuel being injected?

Maybe he accidentally set the tps to a max of 75% or something

Took it to my tuner, put it back on the stock map and it was like a turtle. No way was my car that slow before tuning so something else might've gone wrong that has nothing to due with the tune. Any ideas?

Looks like its back to the drawing board. Thanks

Maybe you need to calibrate your butt-dyno?
