Default Idiot Award

Take a look at the attached pic and let me know if this happens to you a lot. Let me tell you that there are also like 6 open spots in a row all along the bottom of the pic where the bushes are. Why must people be so ignorant? AND they parked right up on me! [banghead]

You have a point dholly, however the groundskeepers come in fairly often to cut the grass. Can you imagine an industrial sized lawnmover spitting God knows what 2 feet from your door? <shudder>

This bothers me far less now that I've owned an expensive car for a while, but when I first took ownership, it drove me through the roof. I don't mind it when it's another expensive car because 1) I expect they don't want to ding their door with mine any more than I do and 2) They're probably trying to hide next to me figuring I'll be of the same attitude. However, it seems there are goofballs in beaters that seek out nice cars to park next to simply because they know we don't want them to.

As an asshole, though, I can't say I blame them.

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN Admonisher! I have to agree with Semi...if someone with a nice car parks next to me, then I'm not really stressing (but may still be a bit annoyed), but it's the morons driving the s$#t on wheels that makes me crazy if they park next to me because they could care less if they get a ding in their door. I ALWAYS, ALWAYS park as far from other cars as possible, and the rare times when people do park right up on my car I inspect my cars for ANY sign of a bump. If I ever do find even the smallest imperfection caused by there a-holed-ness, they will find a size 13 footprint or two deep in the side their vehicle. You f with my car...you f with me!

Parking next to big trucks/SUV/minivans is what makes me nervous. They have the bigger heavier doors that can cause bigger dinks. The most dents I ever got was in College where everyone has a book bag and have to open the door all the way to get themselves + the bookbag out. I ran into some really bad luck and got about 8 dings in about a 15 month span. It really pissed me off. Anybody have any major dings so far in your G35? Post some pics. I think our doors are built to absorb alot of them as I haven't seen any G35's on the street with any noticeable dinks.

Apartments are tough!

Suggest placing a couple of small orange traffic cones in your trunk that will give you some added inches on each side. Other than that your open game, like most of us…

I purposely waiting until after graduation and moving away from an apartment to buy a new car. Both environments might as well come with signs that read "ding me."

Dude, you put orange cones on either side of your car and people are going to WANT to park next to you just to piss you off!

I don't get it. Why would a POS look less suspicious next to a nice car?

You know what I drive. Pictures.

If you were a cop there would definitely be a lot less drug dealers around. [bigeyes]
