Post Blox or motordyne 5/16 ???

Hey guys I recently bought the Motordyne 5/16 ISO thermal spacer and raced my brother with his BLOX 5/8 spacer. His car pulled on me every time. Even giving me a head start. I have a 2004 6mt, he has a 2003 5AT.

I am thinking about buying the BLOX spacer. Its $90 on ebay.

I couldnt really find good info on the BLOX spacer. But what I have seen from my brothers car, it looks like it does some really nice gains.

Do you guys think the bigger the spacer the faster it is on a drag race?

In my opinion i think so because when your racing your RPMS's are on the top end instead of in the middles. I dont know tho. Im a noob. I just want some good opinions. THANKS !!

lol its alright. What still keeps me wondering is if it is better to have the 5/8 spacer in a race rather than the 5/16. All my brother has on his car is that BLOX spacer and a catback. And he pulls on me every time.

Just wondering if im correct that the significant different would be the 5/8 spacer.

If you just want top end, then go for a thicker spacer. The thinner MD Spacer you have gives more improvements under the midrange RPMs where you do most og your driving.

Plus your brother also has HFCs.

If both cars were equipped equally, one or the other could still win because of differences in motors.

well when both cars were stock mine would win all the time. But after he put the spacer and the hfc his car showed alot of improvement. not sure which one gave the most gains, but im sure it was the spacer i think.

What do u think?

I'd think the HFCs would give more improvement. It's the most resptrictive part of the exhaust.

something else to take into account...

with his car being an auto, he's guaranteed the same shifts through every gear. if your reaction time is off or you shift at a less-than-ideal rpm then he's going to pull on you. i do agree though that the HFC's do make a difference.
