Well i saw a towing topic, and decided to ask this question, about 1 month ago my car got towed because the smart police couldnt see my temp license plates, this was 3 days after i got it mind you so i was FURIOUS, IRATE, anything that has to do with being pissed. My car was parked in front of another car so i was facing that car and it was facing me, just like a regular parking lot. So i would like to know how the towing company can tow my car on a flat bed without damaging my drivetrain, becasue the back tires are locked. The towing company claimed to of towed my car on a flat bed meaning the back tires must of had to been moved. I think however they towed it using a regular truck where only the front move and the back is lifted up with a hitch. How can they tow my G without messing it up, i would appreciate input.

Well, I am really sorry that happened to you first off. If they towed you by picking up ur rear in the air and draging your front tires then it would be okay because the back tires are the ones that lock up because fo the tranny and E-Brake. How they could get it on a flat bed im not really sure, those are used when the car is not able to move. Exe: no wheels, crashed, wrecked...
Check the bottom of your just where anything might have scraped. Especially the front of your car. Oh and did they make you pay for the towing and all those EXPENSIVE fee's they charge.

yes those bastards made me pay, because they said they couldnt see it but when i picked up my car it was PERFECTLY visible. Cops get away with anything bad they do, sometimes i feel they do more bad than good even though i respect them. The car was emmaculent except i checked out the car and there was a minor minor minor scrape on side of rim patching to the tire where there was a little rubber rip, not really noticeable (not sure if it was already there) but enough to piss me off cause i had it for 3 days only, other than that the car was perfect

I think when they pull your car onto a flat bed that if the tires won't turn then they just skid/drag.
Also, I've seen garages and tow trucks use these dollies but with a jack kind of built in. The dolly has one side left open and they basically push the dolly up against the wheel, and then jack it up so that the wheel is being supported on the dolly, and then they can just push the car around.

I live in an apt complex and they tow cars around here all the time, and its actually fun to watch
There are these dolly things that surround ur wheel and are on wheels itself. This prevents ur locked wheels from dragging or bending the drivetrain. Then they simple pull it up on the flatbead. The question u should get answered is where they latched on at. We have tow anchors in front and back of our coupes becuase the drive train will bend easily, but they obviously didnt have access to that so I would take it and find out if any damage was done and if so, make them pay for it.
the front and back bumbers have those squares in them....if u pop those out u will see a screw hole and in the trunk u should have a tow anchor that you screw into that steal beam and this will allow u to latch on the chain to pull ur car onto a flatbed.
The dealer should have told you about this, as mine specifically told me to ONLY get towed with a flatbed using this method!!!
Just take it and get a free estimate to see if the bent ur drive train
