Default How are the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Pos tire

I am going to buy new rear tires for my coupe from TireRack. I was wondering if anyone has been using the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires - I can get them from tirerack for $209 a piece.
Rear: 245/45-18
YR Speed Rated

The sotck tires are $246
Rear: 245/45-18
WR Speed Rated

Any opinions on the Bridgestones?

Thanks...

I've never driven on them but I remember reading a recommendation for them on another website. If memory serves, they perform really well but wear a little quicker than the Pilots.

My car is wearing that rubber now. 245/19/35 in the front and 275/19/35 in the rear. The handle really well, but tend to be throw up alot more rocks that the pilots. Seem good to me.

Well, you're paying $50 less. That's 20% less than the Pilots. Therefore, if they last 20% less of the time or better, you're either equal or ahead with the Potenzas.

Yokohama's are pretty cheap at 650 or so a set.... at tirerack. Don't know how good they are tho.
The bridgestones will work just fine because they are the OE tires for the Japanese Skyline

YES, I just noticed them this week at tirerack.com. I think they just came out because I check 2 weeks ago and they didn't exist there.
They appear to be an great economical alternative to the more expensive Pilots.
Even if they wear 5-10% faster than the Pilots, it may still be worth it as it's about 30% or so less expensive and are softer tires so you'll have better grip (probably).

How many miles did you guys go on the performance Michelin's before deciding it was time for a new set? Also, how many times did you guys swap the tires (you know, since you can't rotate the tires)?

My pilots have less than 700 miles on them, moved up to 19" wheels and tires. I have them along with the stock rims sitting in the garage.

I had S-03's on my S2000 (18" Work rims) and they were amazing! Wonderful grip and they communicated when they were reaching the limit. The rear's wore a bit, but the fronts seemed to last forever. A+ tire!

oh, but you can rotate from side to side. they just have to take the rubber off & put in on the other rim. (not front to back) (side-to-side) I just put 255/45 17's Mich. sport pilots on the rear of my coupe. They have much better grip wet/dry than the orig goodyears that it came with..

Why would anyone bother spending all the money on labor changing the tires side to side? It will still wear at the same rate. Just save that $ and get new tires.
