Default 19 inch vs. 20 inch rims

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting either a 19 or 20 inch set of rims, 8.5 up front and 10 in the rear. Looking at the black with polished lip MRR GT1's. Wondering proper tire sizes for the 19's as i am leaning towards them due to my not wanting to lower the car and 20's raising it too much without doing so. However if someone has a reason why I should do 20's without lowering I'm open to suggestion . Also wondering which offset I need......Appreciate the advice.

19's for sure...looks better and allows proper tire diameter.

20's with the proper tire sizes won't change the ride height....not enough to notice anyway.

Yeah but he's basically running rubber bands to keep the right diameter with a 20" rim. Hurts ride quality and performance/grip.

255/30/20 front and 285/30/20 rear are the same outside diameter as the stock 18s.

There is only 1/2 inch difference in tire between the rim and the road when comparing 19s and 20.

If you want real performance, get some lightweight 18s, but since you're looking at cast MRR wheels, weight and performance doesn't seem to be a factor to you, so go with what looks best to you. Personally, I prefer the look of 20s. But if you don't want to lower the car, then you might want to go with 19s because the lower profile 20 inch tires give the illusion that the car is raised when it is really not.

I'm not a racer, and I don't track it at all. I just want to put something on it that i think looks awesome. Being a 6 foot 3, 265 lb man i already add a lot of weight to the car :P. I will probably go with 19's.....if thats the case which size tire would i get and width? like 19x8 and 19x9.5? (according to the size chart thats what they come in) or a 19x8.5 still up front?

And besides the rims arent overly heavy.... bout 23.5-26 pounds for the 19's. Not light by any means but a few extra pounds makes no difference to me.

Get 19s. You don't want to deal with real low profile 20s. Like Revo is saying the ride quality (which is already harsh) is going to get pretty bad with the 20s.

Okay so i'm going to go with the 19's and with the 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 that thatguy suggested. As for the actual width of the rim should i go 19x8.5 and 19x9.5?

Those sizes are a popular choice, but I guess it depends on what kinda look you want to go for. Mine are 19x9.5 and 19x10.5. With the larger size, those tires will be stretched a little bit, which some people don't like, but I think it looks just fine. I wouldn't go any smaller than 8.5/9.5

The only reason I say 19x9.5 is due to the fact that if you go on the size chart I put in the original post, I don't think it comes in a 10 or 10.5

Gotcha.....I will admit that I did not read through all of the size options. In that case I'd go with what you proposed.

Also, for the 19x8.5 it has an offset of 35, and the 19x9.5 has an offset of 45. Will these fit fine without anything else? Using the 245/35/19 and 275/35/19?
