Default My trusty Civic now feels like a go-cart

I opted to keep my '97 Civic instead of trading it in, for the times I need to make quick runs into questionable neighborhoods and bad weather.

The problem is, after purchasing my G, driving my 7 year old Civic feels like I'm driving a big wheel (remember those? []) or something. I consistently release the clutch too quickly, embarrasing myself as the car shuts off at traffic lights. The gearshift feels 3 feet tall and fragile as a popscicle stick. I love my Honda, but MAN what a difference!

Anyone else have a similar story?

I always like the feel of the shifter in a Honda, mine rides like crap, feel every bump.

The Pinto was a funny story, I bought it from my friends sister. It had some bumper stickers on it when I bought it and left them on it. I never really drove it, gave it to my future wife. Now for the funny part, her nephew needed a car and she let him drive it for awhile. This is where it gets funny, imagine a guy driving a car that has "Honk if you're horny" and "So many men, so little time" on the bumper.

Well I still have my 96 dodge ram. You think it's weird to drive you'r civic? My truck is an old, loud, P.O.S. I use it to take crap to the dump.

HAHA my previous Car was a 99Civic and i had a 97Civic but wrecked it and insurance bought me the 99....anyways, omg yes what a difference...i traded it in so i havent experienced the reverse as you have but i can imagine...i drove a manual 98 Acura 2.3CL for a week over December and it was fun but cloth seats, and no luxery felt weird.
Plus I drove a 99 Rodeo part of that time...almost flipped it 100times....they cant take turns like a G, and u hit gas harder cause ur used to the acceleration and when ur turning left from a light...omg make a mental note to idle through the turn, cause ppl dont like rodeos in their front yard!!!

I had my Elantra for a bit after I got the G...I drove it to the inspection and back to the guy who bought it. I couldn't take the giant shifter anymore!

You know what I drive. Pictures.

Funny, I just test drove one of those new Pontiac GTO's over the weekend (just for fun) and the steering wheel felt as big as a bus' and the shifter throw felt like it was 2 feet long. The car in general, besides the great V8 sound, seemed pretty crappy.

I just bought my G35 a couple of weeks ago and I have not had time to sell my 01 Civic in the meantime. I drove my civic to get it detailed the other day and it was awkward as hell. The clutch felt like it was made of paper and the gear shifter just looked obnoxious, not to mention it felt like I was traveling at the speed of a Flinstones vehicle. Just makes me appreciate my G35 even more.

I still have my 2001 Accord 4cyl auotmatic. I hit the gas and it feels so damn slow, my G could beat this car in reverse. That is why I love rwd and my G.
