Default Painting Grill Black...

I have an 07 coupe 6mt and want to paint the stock grill black but leave the infiniti symbol the same.
-Has anyone done this?
-Any tips on doing this and how to take out the grill and symbol from the grill?
-Also should i paint right over it or should i sand it down first?
-Also what kind of paint should i use?

Thanks in advance.

Here are a few threads to get you started...different approaches:

And if you want to go OEM + emblemless:

the emblem pops out easily
sand it first to get a good surface for the paint to stick to

I used some spray paint meant for plastic

Just an FYI, I used the quick-and-easy method that I linked above on my wife's '03 Corolla today, and it turned out great.

I'm very tempted to give it a shot on my grille now. Though I'm also considering going this route: Another Blacked-Out OEM Grille-DIY.

or you can use masking tape, tape the symbol so that it wont affect if you paint the grill..
