Default Armorall ruining my steering wheel

So today i was cleaning my G with armorall cleaning wipes, and when i got to the steering wheel, it looked like tan dirt was comming off and on to the wipes, but as i continued to clean the wheel, the leather began comming of of the top, and now the leather is just falling off. Is there anything I can do? On the armorall canister, it doesn't say anything about not using it on steering wheels, and it says safe on all surfaces. Please help.

If the container doesn't specify leather then I wouldn't use it on leather. I use leather cleaner/conditioner for my steering wheel and never have a problem.

the canister does say it is safe to use on leather, and the bottle has a big picture of a dash board (steering wheel included) all shined up with armorall

I've used it too. Did the same thing. I stopped before it got too horrible but it still bothers me. I will be looking to have it recovered/replaced now

I agree only leather specific creams/conditioners, my friend who upholsters suggests only lotions for human skin? I think this is extreme but no all purpose does everything type products.

Yup. I remember these idiots at a golf course used it all over their golf carts. My friend and I almost slid out of the cart. They did the steering wheel too.

Thats the shine and protect kind, the OP and I were talking about the clean and protect line. You know the ones in the purple can. Doesn't say anything about not using it on anything at all.

I am not a fan of just about anything that has Armor All in the name. Armor All Wheel Protectant is about the only thing I would recommend.

I agree. Armor All is garbage. I use soap and water to clean and a plastic conditioner (the name escapes me but it looks like lotion) to protect.
