Default Why do my brakes make a clicking noise when pressed?

Anyone know why my brakes make a 'clicking noise' when pressing down on the brakes? My brakes are in very good condition and don't need to change them at all. My car has only 29km.. I have an '06 G35 Coupe.

This occurred after I got an oil change from Nissan.. They said the noise is normal :S

Every time I press the clutch it makes a clicking noise as I release. Might be similar problem, but I haven't had it checked. I have a 6 speed 2006 Coupe. Anyone else having this problem? More of an annoyance really.

The pads are probably moving some in the caliper.

ndn, see if you can ride with the tech next time you go to the dealer so you can point out what you hear.

I had that issue. they said it was normal. took it to two different dealerships. i actually hear it when I brake really hard when I first start the driving. it reduces the stopping power as well.

from what I've been told, it is normal but I dont agree. nothing that can be done though!

mine wasn't making that noise before. it was minimal in the beginning (or I should say I didn't notice it as much before) but now I hear it all the time. and they say it is normal (three different infiniti dealerships)

what switch are they talking about? If I were you I would have them replace it just to give it a try anyway. you're getting a brand new part and driving a loaner. you wont lose anything anyway!

I have the exact same issue with my 05 coup 6mt. Wasn't sure what it was. I only hear it when i press the clutch in and release or it might be when i touch the brakes aswell, not too sure. Glad i'm not the only one. From the sounds of it it dosn't seem like anything serious. I didn't realize when i bought this car all the money in gas i would be putting into it! It's crazy!

i have this problem on my suzuki hayabusa (motorcycle). but it only does it when im NOT using the brake. i put the front wheel on a wheel stand and gave it a quick turn with my hand. the pad would hit the top of the caliper then fall down a millimeter or so and then hit it again. this would cause a steady clicking noise i could hear when cruising up to any speed until the wind noise overtook it.

it doesnt seem like this would happen when you're actually using the brakes though. unless maybe your rotors are warped or pads are uneven. maybe the caliper bolts are a little loose??? just throwing stuff out there. personally i would take the pads out of the calipers, inspect them, and make sure nothing is loose or a small pebble got caught in there before reinstalling them.
