Default key less entry question

hey i wanted to know if it would be possible for me to get a smart key fob
even if my car needs a key to turn it on. what im looking to do is buy the fob to open and close the car remotely NOT to do what is meant for i just want it as a remote. has any one tried this ?

I have driven loaner G's with the smart key and you have to push a button on the door handle to unlock the door or you hit the button on the key fob. either way you still have to push a button so I don't see you gaining much.

I think the best part of the smart key is the keyless start.

so you just want to use the new style fob?

I can't blame you. that metal one looks a lot better than the one we have and the symbols won't wear off either
