Default Stillen Strut bar....

so about to order a Stillen strut bar....any AD's or DISAD's to this brand?..wondered if its possible to paint the BAR part of the strut bar Flat Black with rattle cans or will the paint not adhere?...any sanding?

rattle can will work, just rough it up first and prep it well. CLEAN it with some good ol' paint thinner or something like that. Do NOT touch it after cleaning and before the paint goes on, if you must touch it wear rubber gloves.

tip: practice on something else first before painting the bar. If you have anything else that is remotely close to the same shape (shovel/rake handle??) paint it first to get the feel for it. Just make sure it is not wood or something that will absorb the paint...wood is much more forgiving when it comes to runs

...thanks for the help...prbly gonna paint this spring its too effin cold outside to be playin with it ....ill just install then paint...just not a fan of this constant aluminum and silver color lol

so do u reccomend lay a coat on....dry, flip over, coat...and repeat?

hang it and paint the whole damn thing

warm is definitely better for painting, especially curing

a coat or 2 of clear may also help protect it
