Default New member to G35 needs experienced members advice

Helllo,
I recently passed on my Stealth R/T TT to a family member and am looking to get a replacement car for street and track( road race course)
The old completely rebuilt Stealth AWD twin turbo(AKA: Mitsu 3000GT VR4) had about 480HP at the wheels using EVO16G's, Snow's meth/water injection and have been running the AEM ems since 2001.

I need solid advice from those who__ really__ know these G35 cars well
before buying this 2005 or 2006 model coupe available:
Things to be aware of for reliability?
Advantages between model years?
Weakness in the G35 engine?

The Stealth was great until she exceed the 480 HP limit and the weak middle cylinder's (cylinder 3 and 4) rod bearings like to spin under the slightest oil starvation such as in high degree corners of road race conditions.
I am looking for a bullet proof engine that can deliver at least 350HP and similar torque.

Thanks for any advice!

400 to 425 wheel hp is about the limit for the stock block. Most auto trannies can't handle that much power either without some modifications. Some of the 6mt's have oil consumption issues. To get a lot of power from the VQ35, you need to build the motor and go FI.

The G is not a really fast car.

research the "rev-up" motor
it is the one with the oil consumption issue but it has higher stock hp
If you going to mod it much the older non "rev-up" motor (03-04) might be the way to go, since any warranty would be long gone with any mods done internally or FI

At 3,400# the coupe is pretty portly and you will feel the weight.

G35 engine is great in that it can underpin a huge amount of vehicles, but it was not designed to be a serious FI engine. While I'm running somewhere around 400-420 hp at the flywheel I would still feel uncomfortable pushing the engine hard with track use unless I built the engine.
