Default Thinking about buying an equalizer for the Bose Stereo ...

The Bose premium audio package that came with my 2006 G35 6MT has always sounded a little flat in my opinion. I'm thinking about buying an equalizer and mounting it in the trunk. Clarion makes a $60 unit called the EQS746 that I'm looking at. I just want to pop the treble and get a little more clarity out of the sound, don't care about volume and have no subs. The stock Bose sounds muddy to me. I also don't want to spend alot, $100 tops. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it possible to wire something into the middle of the sound system with this car and have it roll the equalized sound to the speakers without too much trouble?

I did something like this with my POS beater car back in the 80's and it was easy. Is it still easy with a G35 or is there more to it?

--thanks

Hmm, you described it perfectly. I knew it sounded a little off.

Yep, my Infiniti stock Bose sound system continually blairs, "meh" to me. $60 plus install for Clarion help seems like the way to go. Just wondering how hard it is to do.

It is possible but you're going to have to get into the wire harness in the trunk leading to the Bose amp. Cut the wires, send it to the EQ, and then to the Bose amp. The Bose amp also has an EQ built in that appears to change with the volume level.
