...and I wasn't commenting on that, I was specifically debunking the assertion that "sound" is part of the electromagnetic spectrum...it is NOT. SOUND is a mechanical vibration propagating through a medium (air,water,etc.). Our ears are sensitive to those vibrations...not EM waves.
That's why Star Wars, with all it's audible explosions in space, is BS too. There is no sound in space because there's no medium...nothing to bounce off of. However, the entire range of the EM spectrum can travel through space just fine. Your keyfob would work in open space...but your cellphone speaker would be inaudible.
Sound is a type of RF energy. Just like there is IR, visible and UV light.
