Default your opinion on dealer's quote.

ok. few months back, i started a thread about brake pads and rotors and ended up got axxis deluxe plus and i don't recall the website's name but gilley told me this site. importrc or whatever. my brakes squeak like CRAZY at low speed and expecially when reversing. when mechanic was installing my pads and rotors, they threw away the stock shims and people told me it could be because it shims. so i took it to the infiniti dealership and asked about it and they say squeak sound won't go anywhere but they could inspect it for $54 and if i want to perform a BG ( i dunno what they were talking about ) it would reduce the noise and they would charge $139 for it. so i said no and came back. and i was like can i put the stock shims tho? and they say size won't match. gilley told me he has same kind of setup on his sedan and had no squeak. so.... what do you guys think?

Thanks 750.

Your dealer is feeding you BS. Of course the stock pad shims will fit the Axxis pads otherwise the Axxis pads wouldn't fit in your brake calipers. LOL

Aftermarket pads are made in the same shape and size as the OEM pads. That's like the dealer telling you that you can't use Michelin tires on your car because it came with Bridgestones.

Since it doesn't seem that your Infiniti dealer is helping you, you can try getting the shims from a nissan delaer, or call one of the online Infiniti parts dealers (Grubbs, everythingg35, mynismo, etc) and talk to them to order the shims for you. And use some anti-squeak lube on the shims.

As an example of parts department incompetence, my local Infiniti parts guy told me that the cone bushing on the a-arm is part of the a-arm and is not sold separately. I went to the Nissan dealer and ordered the cone bushing by itself. I didn't have to get the entire a-arm.

pep boys do free brake inspections if that helps any.

try to buy the hardware kit (shims) separately and then have them installed at your trusted shop or by a trusted mechanic.
