Pretty much everyone I find has had some issues with the 6MT clutch.
My clutch pedal sometimes sticks halfway after releasing it, then pops up later or I have to pop it up with my foot. I've also noticed a rattle when I shut off the engine and when starting from low RPM while still in gear. I've owned this car since 30K miles and it has always had these issues. Now at 49K miles I finally decided to look into it.
I've seen many cases where faulty master cylinders and release bearings are to blame. Most people report having these items plus even the clutch and flywheel replaced for free.
Today I went in to the dealer and asked them to look into the sticky pedal and they come back saying I overheated my clutch, which damaged the flywheel and the release bearing and it is going to cost me $3,000!!!!
This seems like total BS to me, especially when there are so many cases of faulty clutch and related parts issues out there. I'm not sure what to do at this point and could really use some insight from those of you who've had similar issues or know what I can do to get it resolved.
Holy sh**! I had my clutch, flywheel and bearings replaced at the dealership for $1650 and still feel I got ripped! The only reason I had it done there was the fact that were replacing my engine. I agree you should go to another dealer.

update
So I called in to Goss's Garage and they said that Nissan has had issues like this since the last gen 300zx.
Next I call the dealer back and they admitted that there has been a problem with failing master cylinders and other clutch related parts, but a recall was only issued for the 06 and 07 models, not the 05. They said that to get this repair covered under warranty I would have to call Infiniti Consumer Affairs. Did anyone else with 05 and older models have to do this?
Gilley, I believe there was a voluntary recall for all 2007 G35 6MT (sedans and coupes) for replacement of the clutch slave cylinder. I just looked on that Infiniti link and they aren't listing it for sedans, but I know it for sedans too because I received the recall notice by mail based on my vin#.

who cares if its a recall - his slave cylinder is dead - he needs a new one, and it SHOULD be covered under warranty. call infiniti consumer affairs, i say!

????????????? ANGRY ????????? Chill out dude. I only offered it as general info and never once said it shouldn't be covered regardless of recall status. While I agree it is likely, based on the info given, I am curious how you came to the definitive conclusion that it's definitely his slave cylinder and not anything with the master though?
