it doesn't have to be a recall does it? i mean, my 05's master cylinder went and it was not recalled, it was just replaced.
You are right. There doesn't have to be a recall. If the part is defective, it gets replaced. It sounds like the dealership just wants to make a lot of money on the work by not doing it under warranty.

I have a 2005 6MT purchased with 27.5k miles. At 31k I noticed a loud noise from engine bay at a any engine speed. Turned out I had a cracked flywheel. Dealership replaced for free and also offered to install new clutch for parts only. The service tech told me I did not need a new clutch.

After calling the dealer back and pushing back, they agreed to do the clutch/flywheel replacement for free. Today I just got the car back and after driving 30 min in traffic on a 95 deg day....the pedal still sticks!!
When i called back they still insisted it wasn't the master or slave cylinder, because they were not broken and that it could be a pump instead and i'd have to bring it in again. This just looks like it is going to go on forever until they either replace the right part or just deny the problem exists.

Definitely take it back in again. Stay on them and don't let up. It only works in their favor if you get frustrated and walk away mad, swearing to never go back. I doubt they can pretend the problem doesn't exist because they've already changed clutch & fly....WAY too big of an expense to them to have done purely on "good will"....they know there's a real problem.

The problem is most likely in the pedal assembly...

I know this problem, there's a screw up behind the clutch pedal that adjusts the release point, it needs more play so that it can come all the way back out on the spring, just adjust the screw til it's right.
It has to be adjusted after replacing the clutch, the dealer is probably just retarded and doesn't know.
I would write consumer affairs just to document the issue. My clutch went on mine last week at 33k miles...I called my local dealership, Infiniti of Ardmore in Pennsylvania, and without even diagnosing the car, they tell me its going to be 1200 bucks. I said no way, this is insane that the clutch went already. I refused to bring it in to them because their service sux. So I call consumer affairs about having them replace it and after two weeks of no call backs and constantly hounding them, they denied my claim. I am not giving up on this. I plan on writing to them. It's ridiculous to see this many people experiencing issues with their clutch and they are taking very limited responsibility on this. On top of that, the dealerships seems to do what they want. Ardmore tried telling me that if they do the diagnostic check on the clutch, I am bound to them for doing the repairs. They make you sign a form/contract to do the work, otherwise they wont do the check. Does this make sense?
nope...was in an accident the day prior to purchasing the car and then 3 weeks ago i had shoulder micro surgery...ive been in a sling every since(actual get to remove my arm sling oct 2!!!)

Soo...2005 g35c MT....about 1-2 months ago(day after i had my slung) i had a pedal sticking issue...it would basically just sit there at the bottom or in the middle and spin as the pedal was stuck on the floor.you can smell the clutch burning...all you had to do was launch the car from a stop light or shift down as if you getting on the highway
i took it in and they said they replaced a clutch position sensor they claimed. and also my navi screen. seemed to be ok.then a week later
im noticing the clutch pedal is sticking again, not so much often and not as far down as the rest. Nothing id take in until alittle later......then last week im driving along and the pedal gets stuck...then the clutch starts slipping...not tooo bad, but noticable
This time i take it in and tell them its ****ing up again. They have it for 4 days and counting and then call me yesterday and say, "we couldnt get the pedal to stick but your clutch is out and will need to be replaced..its going to be $2,200" I said, "WTF, the pedal is sticking and roasting the clutch...its a lemon, it was sticking last month go check the records.."
"Sir, im showing that they couldnt get it to stick then either...and all they did was lub it up a bit." at this point im interested in why they told me they replaced a clutch position sensor or some bull****.
the honest truth is that it stuck pretty bad the first time around...then they did something and it became a random stick...just every once in a while like if im shifting down to get on fast flowing traffic or downshifting to go up a hill....
I pick up my car today...no idea on how im going to handle it...ill probably just bite the bullet and fix it myself but this time keep a camera with me to record that its sticking...when the pedal roast my clutch again, then im going to bitch at the dealer and get both my clutch replacements for free.
