well it's just weird all together to me. the next step is having every person in the US's picture uploaded to google like a yearbook.
i mean, you could feasibly be on the phone with someone across the country, paying a bill or ordering a product and they could type in your address and look @ your house. that just seems so weird to me.
Here, and around the country I assume, people can look up a lot of information if they know your name and or address just by searching the property appraiser's website of your county.
You can search someone's name and find out all the property they own and the addresses, and see a photo of their house or business too. It's all public record.
Also, you have no expectation of privacy in the front of a building where the public has access.

yes but searching public records is by no means as simple as google.com... nor as commonly known. not a huge deal, just seems weird to me.

From what I have heard all of the cases against google have come from the drivers going onto private property to get the footage. If you they are on public property all you can do is smile and give them the finger, I hope that shows up on street view sometime!
