See my sig for details. Pedal to the floor feels slow. Is the 2006 6MT a slow sled? Before I bought this I drove a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse with a 4 cylinder turbo. My 2006 6mt feels slower. The G35 looks great, feels slow. 1-60 takes awhile, 60-100 takes forever. --thanks

Aint no thing but a chicken wang, but I just don't know how to get a faster accerlation thru the 3rd gear. Seems to take foreever and do nothing on that gear. 4th is no better. The RPM's go up faster than the speed.

Interesting....there have been times I felt 2nd or 3rd took forever to wind up too. I just attributed it to my surroundings. (larger road, speed of cars around me, etc). I have never floored the pedal on the start of acceleration. When pushing the ride, I'd go like ~90% of full throttle first then floor it.
I highly doubt a 98 Eclipse GS-T/GS-X can sprint as fast as the G. I believe stock they run ~high 14's. It was probably just the feeling of forced induction that made it feel faster. I know that was the case for my RX7. The thing felt ALOT faster, but it wasn't that much quicker than my G.
Regardless, if you can go FI. I know I want to...just lack of funds

True that. Forced induction as well as the power to weight ratio on the eclipse is what made it feel faster than the G35
You're not alone, sometimes i wish they could've made a VQ35DET specifically for the G35 cuz it REALLY needs it. We're driving a big fat pig here! 3500LBS!!!!

Lately mine feels like I'm driving a school bus, well maybe not quite that bad, but I think that the hot weather has a lot to do with it. Yesterday temps here were in the high 90's. Add that to a full tank, running the A/C, and loading the car down with passengers, and it does makes the car less than exciting to drive.
Summer "Fuel"
Gas station switch to an E10 blend in the summer. And everybody knows the energy content of ethanol is less than that of actual gas.
Not sure if it is a state thing or federal but gas stations can run up to 10% (maybe 15%??) of ethanol and they don't have to tell you. But you can find it buried in their website some where.
hmmm.. '06 6mt here... mine feels great. Depends on how you're driving though. If I'm switching 1st and 2nd under or around 3K RPM, and then try to push it on 3rd, it'll feel really slow. You have to push it through all the gears starting from the 1st one in order to feel the power. Eclipse with stock turbo probably had a bit of a kick to it in lower RPMs... but I've driven one as well and doesn't feel as powerful as my car.
p.s. no mods on my car except for a drop in k&n stock filter
On average, with my normal leadfoot driving on my 6MT, I'd been getting between 16 - 18 mpg city and 20 - 23 hwy. After my last $90 fillup (at $4.79 gal), I decided to see what's the very best I could do for one tank full by impementing my own sort of 'hypermiling' technique.
For this tank of gas so far (300 miles and counting), I'm getting 24.6 mpg. with primarily city driving. That's practically a 50% increase from my leadfooting. Basically, I just don't rev the engine. While being careful not to lug the engine under load, I just shift early and often as smoothly as I can at anywhere between 1500 to 2000 rpm. I avoid (roll through) complete stops whenever possible so that I can stay in 2nd at a roll, and then start rowing away until I get up to speed again. Often, I'll jump a gear (2-4-6 or 1-3-5) and find that on city streets I'm in 6th by 35mph. I look ahead a lot to avoid braking and coast, clutch in, whenever possible. On the freeway, I get on very gently and hold steady at 60-65 mph or 22-2500 rpm.
I had no idea that I could even get this kind of mileage out of my car (considering my driving style and the traffic/road conditions around me), so It's been pretty surprising for me. I must say that it's actually a lot of work to be constantly focused on my mileage when driving, and it's certainly NO FUN to be COMPLETELY unsporty...I might as well be driving a geo metro. LOL. But I told myself, it's just for this tank full as an experiment. Now, I find myself impatiently waiting for the stupid tank to run out so I can kick it again...kinda reminds me of my original engine breakin.

My 05 6mt felt that way when I first bought it too. Resetting the ECU and doing the throttle release learning procedures made things a little better.
Recently, I installed a grounding kit (I'm selling them in the marketplace) and the car feels much quicker with torque down below. Could be a fluke. Could be the new CD I'm listening to, but it could also be the wires.
One thing you need to take into consideration is that each gear through 4th has torque multiplication. As you get into higher gears, you need to also be at higher RPMs to get similar pull.
My coupe pulls through 3rd below 3k. 4th is a little sluggish below 3k. 5th and 6th must be above 3k to feel anything (6th at 4k feels nice lol).

The 2g Eclipse/Talon Turbos were mid to high 15 second cars in stock form, thanks to the small T25 turbo. Mitsu put a smaller turbo on it than the 1g so there wouldn't be much lag. Upgrade the turbo and intercooler and you have a monster on your hands, not hard to get into the 12's.
I agree with the summer gas. That combined with the heat makes my '06 6MT feel like a different car.
