well i have a 2004 g with 28000 miles on it im wondering if i can still take it to the dealer to check for possible right rear axle problems for the current grinding sounds i am hearing... my current mods are...
full cat exhaust system
eibach springs
eibach sways
axis hiros 19
will they void my drivetrain or anything relating to axle problem warranty?
Can't hurt to ask but if any mods could have caused that, you're toast.
I would bring it in and at least let them say no because they can pinpoint the problem and why they won't fix it.
How do you manage to get soo little miles???? I have an 06 and I got 41,000 miles on it!
story of my life... my 06 has just over 41k... fortunately I got a little commuter car... 50 miles daily round trip might not be a lot to some, but it adds up...
Make sure you check the "in service" date for your 2004, even with the low milage on your car it is possible it was sold in 2003 and may not be covered by waranty anymore since the time expired.
^ yes, unless it is the powertrain, which has a 5 year 70K mile warranty. I'd argue that the axles are certainly part of the powertrain.
If your car is experiencing the axle click issue, there is a TSB about that. Your mods will not have caused that and it should be covered under warranty. But some dealers are more mod friendly than others.
