First off, i would like to apologize if you guys have read this type of thread million times. let's get back to my questions
so i'm thinking about selling/trading in my 2004 Acura TL for a used Infiniti G35 coupe. So i've been reading all the resources i could, and i came across this problem - the difference between 03-06 G35 coupe and 07 G35 coupe. I was wondering if you guys could give me some details on the differences between those 2, cuz i was just unable to find any other than horsepower difference.
Also, this dealership trying to sell a 2004 G35 coupe claims that it has sequential shifter, i'm guessing it's a false information. any confirmation please?
And yah..so far i've found good deals. One of them is 2003 G35 coupe in white color, which has projector xenon headlights and 20" rims. another one is 2004 G35 coupe that has 18"rims and sport tuned suspension. Price, however, is pretty much the same. Which one would you guys suggest, and why?
Last question. Should I just buy a used G35 coupe and pay off all the money, or should i lease a new G37 coupe and get a huge debt, considering i'm still a full time university student with part time job.
Thanks a lot for helping guys! Really appreciate it.
I'd get the newest one you can get still under waranty and pay it off in full if possible. I'm not a big fan of leasing cars since you don't really own the car so I'd say negative to the G37.
If you are still in college, I'd get rid of the Acura and get a Civic or Corolla or something along that lines. No BS, it'd be great to have a nice car in school, but I think it's more important to use the money you'd save with a lesser car for you education or fun in college.

The main diff between 03-04 and 05-07 is some minor facelifts on the front and the interior looks a lot better. Unfortunately even the 05-07 interior is not up to standards with a luxury brand, I'd say.
The sequential shifter is partially true. It's sequential and it shifts. ha ha, it's just an automatic/torque converter with a tiptronic type system, nothing special. I mean, the tranny actually does lock up above 1st gear and it downshifts pretty well but other than that, it's just an automatic.
I'd say go for the 04 unless you know for sure the 03 is not the first generation of G35s as I've heard they have issues.
As for the financial issue. Smartest thing to do is buy what you can afford now (ie keep your current car) take your student loan money and pay off the rest of your student loans. Get a job, then lease a BMW. You'll thank me five years from now. If you truly just do have a big wad of cash and if you don't have student loans, still save it.
You have a pretty nice car and you're not really upgrading by getting a G35 nor are you downgrading. You'll probably spend a lot of money to just be driving a different USED car and I don't see how that is worth it.

^^have to agree there too. I don't know how many college kids are driving 04 Acuras, and where I went to school anything better than a Ford Escort put you at Donald Trump status.. If you're in CA or Miami that's a different story though..
