oo and another thing is my car got rear ended before (although everything is perfect now and the bumper was replaced) i would definitely lose a lot of money there no? (if i traded my car in) it went through insurance.
i mean i don't care about keeping the auto starter but, would'nt the dealers take value off the car because of the auto starter? or probably not accept the car for trade in because of these moodifications?
nah i bought the car brand new and that was the worst accident it was just a bumper and tail light replaced it looks new still , other than the occasional door ding minor paint chips.

It's possible. Plus, I don't know if you are still under warranty...it probably affect that too. A lot depends, again, on how professionally the installation was...would the average buyer see it as a valuable enhancement or a wierd ricer mod thing??? I don't know.

This is not a big deal; if you have receipts for repair and it was done by a quality shop...it's not too troubling. Again, run a carfax report...it might not even come up if the damage was minor.
sigh... this is begining to feel complicated already. i just feel that trading in a new car for a used car is not a very good thing to do. and if i trade in my car for a new G then i would have to get the G37. andi would lose around 20,000 due to depreciation.... i shud have never listened to my cousin "get the AUTO 280 horse power is strong enough plus u will never stall" (he was lazy to teach me how to drive manual.
^^^ I thought you'd be looking at used G35 coupes. If you think this is more complicated and confusing...you need to do more research on the 5AT => 6MT conversion....that's a real bitch to do properly.

So you don't mind dealing with the complexity and custom fabrication of swapping the tranny from 5AT to 6MT AND deal with the thousands of dollars it will take to do it right BUT you're worried about losing a few bucks on selling the car because it has an auto starter and has been rear ended?
What are you going to do if you swap trannies and then decide to sell a car that has a 6MT but came from the factory with a 5AT. Don't you think no one will want that car?
It's not too difficult to remove the DD radio and return the car to stock.

how long ago did you get your G35? if you've had it for a while, just keep it for the duration (the length of time you planned on having it) and then trade it in on a G37 6MT. if you got the car recently, why did you purchase an AT if you like driving manual? as Gilley pointed out, the transformation will really hurt your resale unless you are able to pass it off on an unsuspecting buyer. i know that i would never purchase a vehicle that had such a swap, regardless of price.
so anyways, dont make a hasty decision. take your time, add up costs and the cost of potential problems down the road and i think the answer is clear.

Trade Value of 05 5AT ~ $16k
Suggested Retail of 05 6MT ~ $23k
After 3 years of good payments, throwing something at the principal occasionally, let's say you owe $15k. $1k to work with, now you have a new loan for ~$10k. Less payments than what you have now.

good point, but your math is off a bit. if he has $1k worth of equity, he is financing ~$22k on the 6MT minus $5k that would have gone into the swap = $17k.
but still, you are correct - smaller note than he has now.

Damn, you are correct sir. ~$23k out the door, and factor the horrible idea of a swap. If you paid around 35, you would have a better car and smaller note, thanks 750.
