Well for starters go get that money back from the dealer. If you have to call your back/credit card company and tell them to stop payment then do it that way, I think there is a small charge if you go that route.

Second I have no idea, call your Ins company and ask.

Call the claims adjuster and ask them when you will get the check.

If the adjuster has already told you what they are willing to reimburse you, then I would say one week max.

You should not fear your dealer; they can't make you do anything and probably would be happy to accomodate you if you asked them. Besides, it is your car and your insurance check. The dealer may prefer to sell you their rims and make more profit off of you, but I can't imagine them pressuring you to do that. Many dealers will put aftermarket rims on their new cars (and sell them at a markup), so they shouldn't have any problem putting aftermarket rims on for you. I would expect the dealer's concerns would be about
1) turnaround time...if you are waiting on rims ordered elsewhere.
2) liability... for any non-standard rim fitment or spacer useage.

If you are at least offering your business to the dealer, you have NOT taken advantage of them in any way and they can choose whether or not they want to do business with you. If they don't, then by all means, go somewhere else. A quality tire/rim store will almost always charge less than your dealer anyway.
thanks for your help, now i have little issue with the check, the check they sent me is on my name and my bank name wich I financed my car...
I need to endorsed the check by the bank... and the bank requires me the apraisal from my insurance ( I have one) and the stimated from the shop wich I dont want to deal with... where I am going to get the estimated of the cost when i already bought the wheels and is less than the amount of the check?? any advise???

Everyone above has been telling you the right info. Your insurance company contacted the dealership to get prices. They will cut YOU a check based on that price. It's up to you to do what you want. You don't even have to buy any wheels.

Cancel the order with the dealer and take your car home. Tow it if you have to. Order your own rims, have the tires mounted and everything put on your car. Never deal with that dealer again. If they won't give you the car, call the cops. Tell them you didn't authorize any parts and they can kiss your ass.

I am curious as to why the bank needs to see the estimate as that is between your insurance company and you. I tell you what I've gotten a check for a lot more than yours and my credit union could have cared less if they saw anything.

how u did it?
did the check was on your name and the bank name too?
did u send it the the bank for endorsement?
the were asking for estimate from shop or the bill wich said it paid, is there any difference between this two??
i think if i send the estimate they will write me a check for the shop name or just hold the check until the car is fixed.

Check was made out to me. I deposited my check and paid off my outstanding loan balance. I sold the G and bought a new one.

In my case I wasn't comfortable driving a car with a tweaked frame.......too many concerns about the car tracking correctly.

As far as my credit union went, they could care less the car was in an accident or how much the claim was for. They only cared if I paid my monthlies or not.

You still haven't gotten your bank to endorse the settlement check?
